Ingredients
  • 1 box of lemon cake mix
  • 1 box (5.1 oz) of vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of mountain dew soda
  • 2 cups of confectioners sugar
  • 1/4 cup of milk
  • 1/2 tsp real vanilla
  • shortening (for greasing the pan)
  • bundt pan (recommended)

Directions
  1. Make sure you have a clean work surface: wipe down your countertops and make sure all your bowls and spoons and whisks etc. are sparkling.
  2. in a large mixing bowl (to be attached to a mixer, if you have one) combine the cake mix and the pudding mix.
  3. add the vegetable oil.
  4. in a separate bowl, crack the four eggs and make sure you didn't get any shell in there (this is especially important if there are little ones or gamers helping you; gamers tend to get shell in with the eggs).
  5. when it is apparent that the eggs are shell-free, dump them in with the other ingredients in the mixing bowl.
  6. begin mixing, whether by hand or electronically (by mixer, not robot).
  7. while the batter is being mixed, slowly add half of the mountain dew.
  8. stop mixing and scrape the bottom of the bowl to make sure none of the cake mix or pudding mix is hiding down there, still in powdered form.
  9. continue mixing, slowly adding the other half of the mountain dew.
  10. when the mixing is done, or your arm is just too darn tired to continue (you don't want to wear yourself out, you've got a Call of Duty 4 marathon coming up later), dump the mix into your pan which you've already greased with shortening.
  11. did i forget to mention earlier to grease the pan with the shortening? you should know that already.
  12. bake in your 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick or knife comes out clean.
  13. let cool completely (i recommend 15-20 minutes on a cooling rack in the pan, then flipping the pan over and letting the cake drop out).
  14. while the cake is cooling, mix the sugar, milk and vanilla in a bowl and whisk until combined to make the glaze.
  15. place the bowl of glaze in the refrigerator until the cake is completely cooled.
  16. stand guard by the fridge to make sure none of the kids or the gamers get their dirty fingers in the glaze bowl.
  17. when the cake is cooled, pour the glaze over the top (a thing of beauty).
  18. place the cake on the table and step back (gamers are known to be quick and messy eaters; it should be gone in a matter of minutes).
  19. bask in the praise and envy of your fellow gamers and any neighbors' kids who have wandered over. you deserve it.

instead fo the icing, you can just use some colored sugar sprinkles to make it look cool. last time i made it i didn't feel like making the icing, so i dusted it with green and yellow sprinkles instead.
