Nuns Bellies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 250 gr angel cake or "pão de ló" sliced
  • 500 gr sugar
  • 3,8 dl water
  • 125 gr almond in powder
  • 9 egg yolks
  • 1 egg

Directions
  1. Add the sugar and the water and boil for 1 minute.
  2. In a big plate put the cake and cover with half the sugar paste.
  3. Add the almonds to the remaine sugar with water and let boil for 30 seconds and then let it cool for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the egg and egg yolks and let cook until has thickened.
  5. Cover the cake with the hot egg cream.
  6. When cold, sprinkle with cinnamon powder.
