Ingredients
  • 1 cup is:
  • 16 tablespoons
  • so,
  • 1/8 cup is 2 tablespoons
  • 1/4 cup is 4 tablespoons
  • 1/2 cup is 8 tablespoons
  • 3/4 cup is 12 tablespoons

Directions
  1. other conversions work like:
  2. 6 tablespoons = 3/8 cup or 1/4 cup plus 1/8 cup or 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons
  3. 9 tablespoons = 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon
  4. So, with a little math you can make your recipe conversions a little more manageable.

Great post!

I've actually had to do that many times! I should print this out and keep it taped inside my kitchen cabinet for future use! Thanks!:)

Thanks for posting this! I change recipe sizes all the time (usually to scale them down). Math comes easy to me, so I never thought of actually posting something to help others who can use a little assistance in figuring things out. Sometimes I make 1/3 of a recipe, and then it comes in real handy to remember that since a tablespoon is 3 teaspoons, 1/3 of any amount of tablespoons is the same number of teaspoons.

THANK YOU!!!! Now I can stop wandering around the house muttering to myself 2oz = 4 Tbsp sooo.......
