Ping Pong

- 4 large potatoes , cooked , cold and mashed into lumps shopping list
- 1 carrot , cubed and cooked along with 1/2 C peas and drained shopping list
- 4 green chillies , chopped shopping list
- 1-inch piece ginger, grated shopping list
- 2 large onions , chopped shopping list
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric shopping list
- 1 /2 tbsp corriander leaves , finely chopped shopping list
- salt shopping list
- Temper : shopping list
- 1 tsp mustard seeds shopping list
- 1 tsp channa dal shopping list
- 1 tbsp curry leaves , finely chopped shopping list
- Batter : ( mix everything together along with very little bit water ) shopping list
- 1 C besan or chickpea/gram flour shopping list
- 1 tsp red chilli powder shopping list
- salt shopping list

- SWEET VERSION : shopping list
- 1 C green gram cooked shopping list
- add with 3 tbsp fresh coconut and sugar to taste . shopping list
- Batter : shopping list
- Batter for the sweet version : shopping list
- Add 1 C flour with salt and enough water . shopping list
- Dip each ping pong ball mixture into the batter and fry until golden brown in color. shopping list

How to make it
- Fry the onions , ginger and green chillies .
- Add the potatoes , mix well .
- Add the carrot and peas .
- Check the salt and add tumeric .
- Temper in a separate pan along with corriander leaves and add to the above .
- Shape the mixture into ping pong sized balls .
- Make sure the batter is at rite consistency .
- The batter must rest on the balls when dipped .
- Dip each ping pong ball mixture into the batter and fry until golden brown in color.
- Serve hot with chutney.
