How to make it

  • Place the flour and butter into a bowl and rub the butter into the flour.
  • Mix in the remaining ingredients.
  • Knead briefly on a lightly floured work surface, then leave to rest for 30 mins.
  • This amount of pastry is enough to line the base of a flan dish.
  • For a pie double the quantities.
  • The result when cooked is melt in the mouth shortcrust pastry.
