Ingredients
  • 1/2 C butter , melted
  • 1 C self raising flour , sifted
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp baking pwd
  • 2 L eggs
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Directions
  1. Whisk the flour, baking powder and salt .
  2. Beat the eggs and sugar until string dropping consistency .
  3. Add the vanilla essence and mix well .
  4. Fold the flour in .
  5. Mix the butter in .
  6. Chill .
  7. Pre heat the 190 deg C .
  8. Grease the muffin pan well .
  9. Pour a tbsp of the batter into the mould , at the centre .
  10. Do not flatten it .
  11. Bake for 7 mins until golden and the centre springy .
  12. Cool it .

Nicely done. As you say, ideal for a very civilized tea. I say - serve the tea in an antique pot, use some sterling, and show off a beautiful experience because lovely madeleines are worth the effort.
