Moroccan shopkeepers are renowned for their spice blends. Ras el hanout ....literally means= (head of the shop) ... It can be a blend of 20 or more spices and ..some say......it has aphrodisiac affects.........

Ingredients
  • 4 - bay leaves
  • 1- tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1- tablespoon coriander seeds
  • 1- tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 1- tablespoon ground ginger
  • 1- tablespoon black peppercorns
  • 1 - tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1- teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1- teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 - teaspoon anised seeds
  • 1/2- teaspoon cardamon seeds
  • 1/2- teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1/2 - teaspoon mixed spice
  • need a spice meal or grinder or food processor

Directions
  1. Place all the ingredients in a spice meal or other to grind them into a powder........
  2. then store the mixture in a tightly sealed container
  3. can keep for several months
  4. makes approx 1/2 cup of spice
