A dear friend of mine in Texas sent me this recipe and I thought it would be perfect for Valentine's Day. She says this was a favorite treat for her grandchildren when they were little and she would use different colored sugar for different holidays. Ingredients
- 2 slices white bread shopping list
- melted butter shopping list
- peanut butter shopping list
- you favorite candy bar, broken into pieces (or chocolate chips) shopping list
- mini marshmallows shopping list
- powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar or colored sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Trim the edges from the bread and cut each slice into a large heart shape. Brush one side of each heart with melted butter. Place one heart, butter side down, in a skillet. Spread peanut butter on top. Place the candy bar pieces on the peanut butter and sprinkle with mini marshmallows. Top with the other heart, butter side up. Cook slowly until the chocolate is melted and the hearts are nicely browned on both sides. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar or colored sugar.
