- 8 oz dried apricots,quartered(about 1-2/3 cups) shopping list
- 2 Cups water shopping list
- 3/4 Cup sugar shopping list
- 2 Cups vodka shopping list
- 1 Cup brandy shopping list
- 2" Stick cinnamon,broken shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom seed shopping list
How to make it
- In saucepan combine apricots and water.
- Bring to boiling,reduce heat,cover and simmer about 15 minutes or until fruit has absorbed as much water as possible.
- Cool.
- Combine fruit mixture and sugar.
- Pour into 1/2 Gallon screw-top glass jar.
- Add vodka,brandy,cinnamon stick,and cardamom seed.
- Cover tightly and shake well.
- Let stand at room temperature for 2 weeks to ripen and ferment.
- Inverting jar once each day to completely dissolve suger and marry flavors.
- Strain through cheescloth into a crystal decanter.
- Reserve apricots to spoon over ice cream,or pound cake.
- Cover the aperitif and store in cool place.
- Serve the aperitif chilled in Crystal Cordial glasses.
- Note: a drink to take before a meal to stimulate the appetite.
