My Dad My Hero

A friend I called was crying , she was having a difficult time to go visit her dad's grave. I wrote this for her and she gained the strength to find solice in knowing his love.
Ingredients

- This is to my dad, shopping list
- Who led a good life and gave me life, shopping list
- Who loved me like only a dad could, shopping list
- You where my light for my life, it was good. shopping list
- You raised me as best as you knew, shopping list
- You taught there were two tracks in life, shopping list
- Right and wrong and right was track you gave my life. shopping list
- When your country said we need you, shopping list
- You didn’t say no, of course I’ll go! shopping list
- You served your country, you gave your best. shopping list
- You came home when some did not, they are at rest. shopping list
- Your gave your part, your sacrifice, shopping list
- While they gave their life, their sacrifice. shopping list
- You made a pledge to those left behind, to lead a good life. shopping list
- You pledged to give your wife a good life for those not coming home. shopping list
- When you had children you pledged to those brothers who gave their all, shopping list
- Your children would represent them all. shopping list
- You raised me and you praised me as a father could, shopping list
- And when I did wrong you steered back to the shopping list
- Right track as a father should, it was good. shopping list
- You taught to laugh and it’s ok to cry, because shopping list
- Crying is just drops of love that flow from my eyes. shopping list
- You cried at the sight of my first child, the tears that flowed shopping list
- Where like you said, tears that spoke of love of life. shopping list
- When you passed, I grieved so hard, you where my pillar of life. shopping list
- It has been so hard to let go, I wanted you here, not to go. shopping list
- But when I saw the life you gave to me, I knew how you would want me to be. My grief I realized was for not, you taught me to live, that was your will. My tears turned to smiles and admiration, for you’re my father who taught me so well. shopping list
- Now that I have grown and look at life, my children, I see you there, on their faces. You have not left; you’re in their eyes and their tears, shopping list
- And like you said, tears of love on such small faces. shopping list
- I miss you more than I can say, but from this day, I choose to smile, shopping list
- For you are my Dad, you went the extra mile, and gave me my smile. shopping list
- Your gave to your country, you gave to your wife, you gave to your children. What a sight! You are my Dad, you are my Hero, and I will love you forever with my smile. shopping list

How to make it
- I met Denise about 7 years ago in Benehana's restaurant in Houston Texas. We were both there for the International Quilt Market and I was waiting to be seated at my table.
- I saw her standing there alone and seeing her quilt badge I said come with me there is room for one more. It turned out it was her birthday and she was alone at the show.
- She wanted to celebrate and have a Mai Tai , I got her the drink, we had a great dinner, lots of laughing and telling stories. She has been my friend every since and has a special place in my heart. She is a "special" lady.
