Thanks to Shandy I now know what muddling is! Flavored martinis are my favorite. This is a new one my sister and I gave our slurp of approval to over the holidays!

Ingredients
  • 1/4 of a small ripe pear, peeled and chopped
  • 1 inch strip of orange peel
  • 1/2 oz. of fresh lemon juice
  • dash of vanilla extract
  • 2 oz. Tanqueray gin
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • granulated sugar for garnish

Directions
  1. "Muddle" pear, orange peel and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add ice, vanilla, gin and simple syrup.
  3. Shake vigorously to mix and chill.
  4. Strain cocktail into martini glass rimmed with sugar.
  5. Float a thin slice of pear on top if desired and you can add a dusting of freshly cracked pepper if that trips your trigger!
  6. Enjoy!
