Saucy Chicken Recipe
This recipe comes from the Donovan Estate that I purchased from Tyler, Texas in 1989. It is tried and true and not only easy to make but loaded with taste. Enjoy

Ingredients
  • 2-1/2 pounds chicken pieces
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. Preheat over to 375 then wash chicken and pat dry with paper towel.
  2. Pull off any lumps of fat then arrange chicken pieces in a baking dish and bake 40 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile chop onion and garlic clove.
  4. Melt the butter in a saucepan then add onion and garlic and cook over low heat 5 minutes.
  5. Stir in all the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  6. Bring sauce to a boil then turn down heat to low and simmer 10 minutes.
  7. When chicken has baked 40 minutes remove from oven and drain off any juice.
  8. Spoon half the sauce over the chicken and put it back in the oven for 10 minutes.
  9. Remove chicken from oven then turn the pieces of chicken over and spoon on remaining sauce.
  10. Bake another 10 minutes then serve immediately.
