George Washington Pudding Recipe
My mother has made this since I was a little kid. I just love it. When I serve it I pour a little heavy whipping cream over the top. Oh yeah.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups Cherries (mom used canned sour drained)
  • 2 cups sugar (divided)
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Directions
  1. Combine cherries with 1 cup sugar and let stand while preparing the batter.
  2. Mix together the flour, 1 cup sugar, and Baking powder.
  3. Add the milk to flour mixture and mix well.
  4. Melt butter and add to the batter.
  5. Pour into an 8 x 8 greased glass baking dish and spoon fruit on top of batter.
  6. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes.
  7. Serve warm with cream.

Love those sour cherries, and the recipe sounds delish!


Love your suggestion of pouring the heavy whipping cream over the top when serving...nice touch! I've never had the pleasure of trying a sour cherry, but think I will have to now...thanks, indi
