Bears California Squid

- 3 pounds squid, cleaned and left whole shopping list
- 1/2 pound monterey jack cheese, cut into finger-sized pieces shopping list
- 1 can (14 ounces) whole mild green chiles shopping list
- 1 cup canned tomatoes, cut in half and drained shopping list
- juice of 2 lemons shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Slice chiles lengthwise into pieces 2 to 3 inches long and 1/4-inch wide.
- Stuff squid with one piece each of Monterey Jack cheese and green chile.
- Seal each with a toothpick.
- Layer squid in a baking dish.
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper, cover with tomatoes and lemon juice.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
