How to make it

  • Cook sugar, milk and butter to 220 degrees F.
  • Let bubble until medium thick.
  • Off heat, stir in vanilla.
  • Serve hot with waffles or pancakes.

    Oh you're out to torture me before I go to bed tonight, aren't you?? This sounds so good, over so many things - now I want to get out the waffle iron and start making waffles! The grandkids will be here for a visit in a couple weeks...I think they're gonna like this on their breakfast pancakes and waffles...thanks, notcho - you always bring me the good stuff!

    What a great idea for a syrup, Notyourmomma! My family is really going to enjoy this as an alternative to maple syrup. I'll bet that this could be great over some coffee ice cream, too. Aw darn, now I want some ice cream. Thank you so much for the recipe! This sounds like a winner to me!
