Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat the bacon dripping or oil in a dutch oven (large, heavy pan)
  • Add the meat and fry until it starts to get crispy
  • Add the cabbage and cook until the cabbage starts to wilt
  • Add the tomatoes, crushing each one by hand as you add it.
  • Add the juice from the tomatoes
  • Add the flour water mixture
  • Add the hot sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Simmer until the cabbage is very tender and the sauce thickens. You may have to add more water.
  • Serve with bread, butter, and additional hot sauce
