Trout Chowder

- 4 strips of bacon, diced shopping list
- 1 large onion, finely diced shopping list
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced shopping list
- 2 carrots, grated shopping list
- salt & pepper shopping list
- 6 10" trout (or equivalent amount) shopping list
- butter shopping list
How to make it
- Cook bacon and pour off fat.
- Stir in diced onion and sautee until clear.
- Stir in potatoes, carrots, and salt & pepper.
- Add enough water to cover.
- Simmer in a coverd skillet/kettle until vegetables are done and a thick sauce has formed from the potatoes.
- While simmering, prepare the trout by cleaning the trout, and remove the heads and tails.
- Place the trout meat gently on the simmering chowder and cover until the trout are done.
- Stir in butter and serve.
