How to make it

  • Cook bacon and pour off fat.
  • Stir in diced onion and sautee until clear.
  • Stir in potatoes, carrots, and salt & pepper.
  • Add enough water to cover.
  • Simmer in a coverd skillet/kettle until vegetables are done and a thick sauce has formed from the potatoes.
  • While simmering, prepare the trout by cleaning the trout, and remove the heads and tails.
  • Place the trout meat gently on the simmering chowder and cover until the trout are done.
  • Stir in butter and serve.
