Trout Chowder Recipe
This chower is fantastic when made with fresh fresh trout; if you pack lots of food for your fishingtrip this can be made at the end of a good fishing day at riverside.

Ingredients
  • 4 strips of bacon, diced
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 carrots, grated
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 6 10" trout (or equivalent amount)
  • Butter

Directions
  1. Cook bacon and pour off fat.
  2. Stir in diced onion and sautee until clear.
  3. Stir in potatoes, carrots, and salt & pepper.
  4. Add enough water to cover.
  5. Simmer in a coverd skillet/kettle until vegetables are done and a thick sauce has formed from the potatoes.
  6. While simmering, prepare the trout by cleaning the trout, and remove the heads and tails.
  7. Place the trout meat gently on the simmering chowder and cover until the trout are done.
  8. Stir in butter and serve.
