A double treat -- fruity Sangria with wine soaked strawberries for dessert.

Ingredients
  • 2 pints fresh strawberries, washed and stemmed
  • 2 750 ml. bottles dry white wine, chilled
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 cups club soda or soda water, chilled
  • Fresh mint

Directions
  1. Prepare the night before or a few hours before serving time so the flavors have plenty of time to meld. For an added treat, serve the remaining wine-soaked strawberries over poundcake with fresh whipped cream for dessert.
  2. Combine strawberries, wine and sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate overnight. When ready to serve, add club soda or soda water to strawberry mixture. Pour into ice filled glasses & garnish with fresh mint, if desired.
