Ingredients
  • 1 pound large uncooked shrimp
  • 3 tablespoons, butter
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 4-6 cloves, garlic - peeled and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sweet-flavored chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons, Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons, fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 lemon - sliced (including peel)
  • 2 teaspoons fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 tablespoon, crushed dried red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon (or to taste), Tabasco sauce
  • *Approximately 1-2 cups, broth and/or wine as desired

Directions
  1. In a skillet over low heat, melt the butter with the olive oil. Gently saute garlic in butter and oil until tender but not brown. Add all remaining ingredients except the shrimp, in the order given, and simmer briefly to blend flavors. Stir in the shrimp.
  2. Refrigerate the shrimp in the sauce in a zip-lock bag for 8 hours or overnight, turning or stirring from time to time.
  3. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. Place the shrimp mixture in a shallow baking pan. Bake approximately 10-15 minutes or until shrimp turns pink and mixture is hot. Do not overcook or shrimp will be tough. Serve in shallow bowls with crusty French bread for sopping up the juices/broth.
  4. *A cup or so of chicken or fish broth, mixed with white wine if desired, may be added to the shrimp and sauce mixture in the baking pan before cooking for a “soupier” result.
