Ingredients
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 12-ounce can cold beer
  • butter or margarine

Directions
  1. Stir all the dry ingredients together in the bowl.
  2. Add the beer and mix until all the flour is absorbed.
  3. Spread the batter into a greased bread pan.
  4. Put the pan into a heated box oven.
  5. Start a new batch of charcoal heating.
  6. After 30 minutes, lift the oven and add fresh, hot charcoal.Do not take out the cold charcoal.
  7. Bake another 30 minutes, or until the bread is brown and sounds hollow when you thump it with a fingernail.
  8. Cool the bread about 10 minutes before cutting it.
  9. Serve warm or cold, with butter or margarine.
