How to make it

  • 1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees celcius. Lightly grease a flat baking tray.
  • 2. Sift flour and salt together into a large bowl. Stir in caster sugar, parsley and grated parmesan cheese.
  • 3. Make a well in the centre of the mixing bowl and pour in the whole can of beer. Mix quickly to a soft, sticky dough with a metal bread and butter knife.
  • 4. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured flat surface. Knead the dough lightly and mould into a round. Place on tray and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • 5. bake for 40 minutes or until the damper sounds hollow when it is tapped lightly. Cool for 10 minutes and serve while still warm with butter.
