    Good morning ladies!

Breakfast is ready. I made oats with maple syrup and walnuts. There's also passion fruit banana smoothies, oat and raisin cookies and mango slices. Coffee, tea, OJ.

Henrie, thank you so much for your help. I'll definitely make some of those recipes. You're the best!

Susan, how did Tom's appointment go?

Can you believe it? 10 more days and it is the end of September...

I'll get organized and go shopping for groceries. Need to start cooking to freeze today ;)

    I'll come by later.

    Hugs and prayers all around

Hi Ana! Thanks for opening - it's definitely oatmeal weather here, cold and wet.

Good luck with the cooking and freezing - you get a great sense of satisfaction when it's all safely stored don't you! My go-to cook-to-freeze recipes for autumn/winter are these:
    Brisket Of Beef
    Pot Au Feu
    Venison En Daube
    Donnies Italian Style Meatballs
    Whats Sauce For The Meatballs

It is unusual although not impossible, to make your own haggis here - chiefly because some of the ingredients are very hard to obtain since the BSE scare years ago, although safe to eat now.

I have a little cooking to do myself - I have a recipe for lion's head pork meatballs in coconut sauce I want to make, and I came by a lot of chicken breast fillets today for half price - I'll see what I can do with those!

Tom's appointment went well, not too much waiting around, the department was quite quiet for some reason. His X ray was perfect, the only new thing was a blood test for metal ions in the blood stream, as his new hip is a metal ball to a metal socket which was very new technology to us 5 years ago.

    What's everyone else up to?
Hoping you are all doing OK; hugs and prayers for anyone in need of them...
    xx Susan

PS I had no idea that tea was grown in the Azores!

    Your cooking plans sound wonderful!

Glad to hear Tom's appointment went well ;)

Yes, in the Azores tea is grown and the sight is wonderful. So is the tea. I went to the main factory Gorreana and tasted all varieties. The owner, a hard working lady, was there working - packing tea - along with the factory workers.
