Featured Recipe

  • gourmetana 13 years ago
    Hey Kristopher,

Because I like to understand what I see, I would like to know how the featured recipe is chosen, I thought it was random, but it cannot be.... Great recipes are featured, but the users are almost always the same. Why is that?
Maybe this was answered before, but I cannot find a thread about it. Thanks! ;)

Hey Ana... do you mean the features in the top left or the ones on the front page that show up the day they're posted?

Good question, Gourmetana. I'd also love to know how "new today" posts are chosen too.

New today recipes are all new recipes listed in the list section and the 'featured' recipes are meant to be those with clear photos large enough to crop well(the system sets an auto crop on all that are put into the "featured" section, this isn't hand done) They try to not feature any with non original photos, but some slip past.

As for the Top Left feature.... that one really is random and is picked out of past featureds. No real rhyme or reason to them. They hoped to reach back further since just "the change" but, again, it hasn't happened, yet.

Will it ever? Who knows. We wait. :-)

    You're welcome

most of that information is scattered around the Help threads.... but, without the ability to search the threads by keyword(hint hint to Kristopher;-), it's a pain to go back and find them.

Searching the threads by keyword is on my wish list. It would come in very, very handy in the IMI group. So, double hint hint to Kristopher. :)
