Log in Failures

  • Cosmicmother 1 year ago
There seems to be a mass of people here who are unable to log in. They lose their old account and have to start over. Some people have had to start a new account multiple times.

~If you have any tips or advice for those locked-out, please file them here so we can help others out in the future!
~If you've lost an account, please file it here too, we should have a list so that the "powers that be" can see it!
    Thanks! :)

Many things I have noticed have led me to conclude this site is not being monitored anymore and problems and/or problems posts are not being addressed.
The only thing that has worked for other locked out members in the past is creating a whole new account.
I would also suggest that if anyone has made a friend out of any other member here and you really care to keep in touch, get a personal email address from them. It wouldn't ever surprise me if this site suddenly went down from what I have noticed.

I log in and out of FrankieAnne and Reviews a few times a day, in some instances, depending on what I am doing. I am always worried that I will get locked out of one or the other - or both! I'm surprised it hasn't happened to me by now.

I think it also has to do with the type of device your using, and/or internet browser(s). I remember reading something in the Help archives about certain Internet Explorers might not be as compatible. (I use IE 7 with no problems, and only log in from one device)

*Only log on from the Homepage, at the top of the screen in the green banner. If it takes you to a different log in area, go back to the homepage and try again. And of course, remember your password, even better make sure your computer remembers your password as too many wrong attempts might lock you out.

*And just recently I couldn't get in for almost a day, somehow my computer's firewall blocked the page. I had to turn off my firewall, log-in, then immediately turn my firewall back on and I haven't had a problem since.

There are some new people who sign up but can't get back in. So it makes me think that some computers or internet browsers aren't as compatible? But I really don't know?!

Oh, and here's some advice from another member, if your using a phone or tablet etc...

    * "When Group recipes recognized my wifi. I turned wifi off on my phone and tried again just using data. That did the trick. After the account was set up, then you can go back to wifi and use the account. or phone or desktop computer"

I guess your IP address could be blocked if you had too many log in failures or something? Whatever the reason, the above advice has worked for a few people here!

Maybe that is why I have had no problems. I use a desktop both at home and at work. I hope my luck continues!

I used the following method that Cosmicmother quoted and it worked great !! This is a tip from Icceemama@

When Group recipes recognized my wifi. I turned wifi off on my phone and tried again just using data. That did the trick. After the account was set up, then you can go back to wifi and use the account. or phone or desktop compute

I keep logged in all the time to avoid problems, and use iPhone, iPad, and laptop interchangeably. Agree there is a problem and really hope this site sticks around. I've made friends and would miss it. FB has a Friends of Group Recipes page, also, if it does go down at least there is another way to keep contact.

This morning, when typing my password, the dots were double and I got the "wrong login stuff" message. (Every time I hit a key it added two dots instead of the just one like it usually does.) It was not my keyboard since I was able to type correctly in other web pages and programs. I typed my password in another program and copied/pasted it to the login box. That worked.for me. Just thought I'd add this on.
