Recipes on the front page

First, just let me say I am not complaining - I am just curious...
But, I notice today on the front page there are 13 featured recipes with the big pictures posted by awrelie. Then, when I scroll down, I only see four listed in the list on the bottom. Does everyone else see this or is this just my browser? I don't understand why all 13 recipes are not in the list. Don't all new posted recipes appear in the list on the bottom?
Also, I had thought that we were limited to posting eight recipes a day. Was I misinformed?
Again - I am just curious. These questions are not to point a finger at awrelie.

I don't understand why Kristopher, who created this group, doesn't answer questions from us anymore. Many of us legitimate, long standing members have asked many legitimate, real questions in a polite and inquiring manner with no reply. I guess this will be yet another unanswered query. And still no FAQ.
Ah, well. Off to get ready for work. Be ignored in real life. :-P

Frankie the 8 recipes a day limit went away with the old site. I haven't paid much attention to what's in the list as opposed to what's pictured on the front page, but, for some reason I was thinking that the ones that are pictured don't show up in the list until the picture falls off...but that might not be right.

Maybe.... I noticed that also FA. I also have asked why are the same foodies chosen over and over and over to the featured recipe of the day (top left photo). I am not sure it is completely random. But hey... what do I know.... ;)

Well, if you want my theory, Ana, - and I know you do :-D - I think its kind of a matter of math. I do think they are random, but if you have posted 1,000 recipes with your own picture that have been featured, you will be the top left photo more times than the person who has only posted 100 recipes with their own photo that have been featured. If you don't post any pictures at all with your recipes or "borrow" pictures, you're never gonna get featured or be the top left recipe of the day. I think, too, that recipes we posted before the "new" site that we have now won't get to the top left at all. At least that's what I figure. I guess. I think. :)
