Searching In Groups

There seem to be two search features in groups: Discussions and Recipes
This made me very happy as I went over to the "I Made It Group" to search for recipes that included "clam". I new for certain that there was one (or more) and thought how great we could now find it easily.

Well I was dissappointed. Neither searching recipes or discussions within a group seems to be functioning. I this a known issue or a new discovery or am I just doing it wrong.

No you are doing it correctly, but there is a bug here. Right now if you click the "recipes" tab first, you can search for "recipes" and this works.

This has been added to the todo list for this week.

I just searched in one of your groups (Always Leftovers) by clicking the magnifying glass icon (under the recipe tab) and it worked (Firefox 3.6). I searched for "shredded pork". See if that works.

But you are correct that there is a bug in the top right search box for discussions. Will work on it this week.

Tried again there and that DID work for me. I wonder if it was particular to the "I Made It Group" possibly quantity to search through. There are a bunch there.

There could be a lot things at play there, and so we'll get our hands dirty later this week to figure out exactly what is happening. In the near-ish future we are going to work on improving group search.

When you search for a recipe or are on a recipe page look at the bottom of the page, you'll see a "Maybe List" gray bar. You can compare recipes with that. It is far better than the old site's.

If you want the recipes you have personally uploaded: http://www.grouprecipes.com/people/ttaaccoo/recipes. If they aren't already bookmarked, you can visit the recipe page and click "save" (yellow icon under the recipe introduction). This will allow you to assign "categories" or "tags" to categorize the recipe within your bookmarks located at :grouprecipes.com/bookmarks.
