A second round of Sunday :)

Good Sunny Sunday morning everybody! It is a perfect Fall day here in the Ottawa Valley. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and the leaves are glowing!

No plans figured out yet for either something to do or what to make for dinner. It`s going to rain tomorrow so it`d be nice to get out for a Hike today and get some fresh air.

Your dinner last night sounded superb Linda! Glad you were so happy with it. I am SO making those Pumpkin Pots de Creme at some point! We have company coming next month so maybe then.

Glad you had a great Birthday feast Karen. Sounded delicious! (Except for the Okra part) :) Hope things warm up for you today.

Goodness on the fireworks Kimmer. It`s hunting season here now and when I went out this morning to see if there was a layer of ice on the bird bath it sounded like the guns were going off right in the yard!!!! Yikes! Poor Chloe. Sounds like that really travel for sure!

I had the foresight yesterday afternoon to go pick the remaining tomatoes, basil, and jalopeno peppers from the garden before we got frost. So pleased I did that. :) Pic below of our last harvest.

    Wishing everyone a great Sunday!

    Good Morning Everyone.

Looks like it'll be a nice day today. Sunny clear blue skies …
Only plans so far are the gym and a quick stop in the grocery store (maybe). I'd rather run in for a few things than wait and have bigger loads later. No clue yet about dinner.

I'm living vicariously thru your Autumn Janet and enjoying your posts and pictures. The pots-de-cremes are like little pumpkin pies. Perhaps make a small batch to see if you like them b4 serving to company. Next time I may measure light on the sugar but that's me. You can also make your favorite pumpkin pie filling and simply bake in individual ramekins. Nice bounty from the garden. Is that the last of everything?

I'd be spitting mad too Kimmer if my neighbors did that. Did the police do anything?? Issue any citations? Fines? or just go over and "talk". Do you know what neighbor it was? How is Chloe today?

Between the addition of egg yolks and heavy cream Linda I would think that the consistency of the Pumpkin Pots would be more mousse like than pie like, am I right? Good luck at the grocery store and enjoy your time at the gym. I am such a Fall Fanatic you wouldn`t believe it. I breathe, see, touch fall from the moment the first leaf starts to change colour `til they`re all down on the ground and snow starts to fall. :) There are still a ton of unripened cherry tomatoes out in the garden and a few teeny tiny jalopenos, but if it keeps freezing overnight I`ll just let them rot. Often times if I bring them in green (as I have the larger tomatoes) they tend to go bad by the time they ripen and to date I`ve never found a recipe I really like using them green.

Jim wants to work on his interlock this morning and then go for a jaunt this afternoon. I`ll clean up the kitchen and putter about. We`ve decided on

Mesquite Grilled Chicken In White Barbeque Sauce

for dinner tonight. I made home made Egg McMuffins for breakfast and they were yummy.

Benjamin`s girlfriend Angel is holding a Potluck dinner party for his birthday tonight. SO wish I could be there. At the very least I hope to see pictures. Angel was able to take two extra days off work with pay so they get to have 6 days together which is lovely.

I wouldn't say they were mousse but maybe you might … creamier than pumpkin pie though but I make my pies with heavy cream so to me they were like pumpkin pie. The consistency was not as firm/dense as the chocolate ones for some reason which are my favorite. Maybe because melted chocolate itself firms up when cool.
Autumn is my favorite time of year too and if I could live in it year round I would. If only such a place existed.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes Linda. He turns 28 on Tues., the 16th. Same as Joce`s birthday! :)

I`m stripping bedding in the guest rooms. Need to go buy a new blanket as one has started to wear. It`s one of those velour type blankets. Prepped the Chicken for dinner.

The soup was ah-mazing!!!! Loved it. Went for a hike in the woods in the afternoon. Saw a chipmunk, tons of chickadees and a little girl feeding them out of her hand, and two garter snakes! Hot tub and now we`re cuddled up in the family room.Jim`s watching football.

Making spinach and a baked potato as sides to the chicken.
