Chipotle Soup Sunday!

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Sunday!
You had a busy day yesterday Michelle! Hope you get a bit of down time with the family today. The personalized West Family wood creation sounds lovely. When Benjamin was in Cubs years and years ago they did a project where they made a 'garden stone' out of cement and then they pressed beads in it for decoration along with their hand print. I still have it out in my garden to this day. I think we're down to maybe 2 beads still in it. :) Your Lobster Scampi sounded amazing!
Pics below of Jim's and my lunch yesterday at the Heirloom Cafe. The soup was Chipotle Spiced Sweet Potato and Corn with Cilantro and Pesto. The sandwich...Heirloom Croque Monsieur with Smoked Berkshire Ham, Gruyere, Pancetta, Apple, grainy mustard and Chutney
...and the Pizza 'Chorizo, Peruvian Peppers, mushroom, arugula, red onion and mozzerella.

My favourite birthday gift yesterday was a copy of "Brodo". Written by the Chef in NYC that opened a soup window on 1st Ave. in Manhattan off the side of his restaurant and wooed customers with Bone Broth. It's a gorgeous book and I can't wait to make something from it.

Jim and I didn't end up eating dinner 'til 9 p.m. and then Benjamin skyped with us until almost 11. Today we are just going to stay home, go for a walk.....

Thinking of maybe making up a pizza crust and using our leftover Butter Chicken from the other night to make a pizza in the BBQ pizza oven. Either that, or Michelle has me craving some scampi dish and I have a nice bag of shrimp in the freezer and some nice dried pasta from the Italian deli.

3C/37F this morning but sunny and blue sky.

    Good Morning All!

The food pics look amazing Janet! I'm getting hungry just looking at them. Pizza is my all time favorite food and the one you had yesterday perfect. Happy you had a fabulous day!

Hope your feeling better Shona (your family too).
Nice on the "she and me" day Michelle. Sounds like it was fun. Some of the most influential people and times in my life were from my scout days. I can look back on our leaders and the things we did to this day and still smile. All very positive. I still have (haven't made it though in awhile) the recipe we made when working on our cooking badge as a troop. We use to meet in the basement of a church and were given permission to use the kitchen ... this is what we made ... Mescolati Pasta
Where has Marie and Tina been?

Nothing much planned for today. Dog got his "Sunday" bath so that's done. I'm caught up with laundry and such.Took out a pork loin for dinner that I'll rub with Dijon Mustard and season with herbs, salt, and pepper then grill. Have Brussel sprouts and will grill them also along with carrots.
I'll make a grocery list later for both Costco and the regular store and plan to visit both sometime during the week as I'm getting low on a lot of things.
I'll spend the rest of the day, off and on, practicing Kenpo for the start of our test tomorrow.

    Enjoy!

Yum, that Mescolati Pasta sounds delicious Linda! I'm missing Tina and Marie in here big time myself! Jim's doing up our laundry this morning and we're just about to go out for a walk. Your pork loin sounds like a perfect Sunday Dinner. Good luck with your practicing!

    Thanks!
I'm sure the M. pasta has a billion calories in it and not sure why our troop leader picked it (I know she made it for her family) but none-the-less, it's gooood. I'd make a big salad to go with it and fill up on that first. Ha!!
Enjoy your walk and fresh air.

Hi all! Janet my kiddos have cement stones just like that as well out in the garden, handprint and colorful gems too!! Neato :) And as yours, a lot of the gems have fallen out. Yum, y’alls lunch yesterday looks delicious, especially that soup. Either choice for dinner sounds good to me!

Hi Linda! Yes we have so many memories from Girl Scouts. We are a very active troop, so we do lots of things together. We meet at a bank “conference room” that also has a kitchen so when we have time we like to have the girls help out with making the snack. I bookmarked that pasta dish, looks delicious! Your dinner sounds great too, I haven’t made pork tenderloin in forever!

Hi Marie, glad you popped in, miss you :)

Hi Tina, Karen, Joce and anyone else absent today :-D

Michael, Caiden and I went for lunch at Freebirds today. Bri was still at her friends house and they will meet us up at Softball practice today since her friend is on her Softball team. It’s a 4 hour practice today, 2 hours with team “No Fear” then immediately after a 2 hour practice with team “Lady Bandits” Lol, I’m ready for league to be over with so we can just concentrate on the All Star team. It get’s confusing. We had a girl show up for a game with the wrong jersey on and had to go home and change. We all got a huge laugh out of that :P

Dinner will be leftover chicken quesadillas which I am about to pre chop and sautee to get the quesadillas completely put together so when we get home from practice I can just grill them up really fast. Have a great rest of the day everyone!!

Laptop down to 5 % so this will be short.

Meatloaf for supper (or make it and refrigerate until tomorrow). GS went to church with us - took him to Miller's Grill afterward. He leaves tomorrow.

Hi Marie - Janet - Linda - Michelle. Hi to those missing. Must go before computer crashes. I thought it had more time left - ha!
