Fabulous Friday

Good Morning Everyone! or should I say Good Afternoon here.

    Hope everyone is doing well.
I gave blood this morning and of course, almost passed out. The guy disconnected me right at the time I was getting light headed and pulled me off early based on my weight and how much blood came out. Blood sugar dropped even though I had a smoothie and a breakfast sandwich and drank plenty. He made me drink cranberry juice there and eat a bag of little cookies and after about 15 minutes I started to feel better. I'll probably donate again but GeeWhiz, what an experience.

The tech also made a bow for me out of the stuff they wrap your arm in to hold the cotton ball in place after taking the needle out. I took a picture but forgot to attach it so I'll temporarily change my avatar.

Morning Linda (well it's still morning here at least). Wow on almost passing out, that's scary! Cute on the little bow, wish they would all do that lol!

So yesterday's search for board shorts did not pan out. So we tried the strip mall this morning and had much better luck! I found some dri fit shorts at Under Armour on sale so I got 2 pairs of those which will work great in the water and Bri found some cute water shorts at Old Navy, so we are all set!

Got the kids out into the pool now and all I can hear is them fighting. I'll let them figure it out. About to make myself some lunch and hopefully eat in peace if I can get them to stay out there long enough lol.

Tonight we are having a get together with Bri's team and have to break the news that we are going Select and are only taking half our team :( We are telling the 6 girls that we are losing that they can try out for the team in August, so hopefully that will help, although I know they won't be making it. It's sad, but things can't stay the same forever and being nice and letting the weaker girls stay is not making my daughter stronger. Sorry if that's harsh :( We did buy them trophies since they didn't get any at State and will be handing those out as well.

Last night I ended up cooking up some sausage that I forgot was in the drawer that needed to be cooked, so tonight will be tacos :) Have a great Friday!!!

Good Afternoon Linda. Sorry to hear you got light headed during the blood donation. That's a pretty snazzy wrapping they put on your arm. LOL. At the place where we donate they wrap this stretchy rubbery pink fabric around your arm afterwards.

That's great you had some success with Costa Rica clothes Michelle. :) Good luck with the ball team meeting this evening. The other girls can join another team right? Yum on tacos.

I think we're going to have
    Korean Chicken Lettuce Wraps
    for dinner this evening.

I'm in major SLO MO mode today. Jim and I were up 'til midnight last night finishing watching a movie (which was fairly depressing I might add) :( so I guess I'm just behind a bit. LOL. We went for our work out and Jim made us Toasted Westerns for breakfast which was yummy.

I'm going to do a bit of house cleaning and then I need to run into town and get some groceries for our trip to the cottage next week.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Sorry to hear about your experience this morning giving blood, Linda. Cute little bow they made you. I hope things work out better with the new speech therapist for you DH.

Glad you found some things that will be useful in Costa Rica. Good luck with the meeting tonight and I hope the other girls will not be too upset.

Lol I am in a major SLOW MODE today as well, Janet. Your breakfast sounds amazing. I haven't made Toasted Westerns in quite some time and we both love them. Have fun grocery shopping.
    Enjoy your trip, Karen.
Good to hear it was only the gland thing for Annie, Bren.
I hope everything goes well with your foot, Laurie.
Sigh... still not much sleep last night again! I keep trying to get comfortable and then I do for a bit and then I have woken up again. It is a combination of IBS and Fibromyalgia and there isn't too much I can do about it. I know Den will have rib eye steaks on the BBQ ( if it isn't raining) with oven fries and I don't have a clue what I am going to have at this point in time.
    Wishing everyone a great day!

Hi Joce! I guess sleeping pills wouldn't help or might mix with other meds? I feel so bad for you that you aren't sleeping. I'd be just miserable. Why don't you make yourself a Toasted Western for your dinner? It's easy and it's comfort food. :)

I did take a sleeping pill, Janet. I would love to make a Toasted Western for dinner but I don't have any sliced ham:( I might order Chinese.

Chinese sounds even better than a Western Joce. So the sleeping pills don't help either then. :( Boo.

I've got fresh bedding in both guest rooms and I did a bit of housework. It is SO humid that I'm going to leave the floors til another day. Even sweeping them is hard as the broom just sticks to the floor and if I washed the ceramic tiles I don't honestly think they'd dry today!

I did a bunch of decorating for Canada Day inside and out. Will make a bit of lunch and then head into town to run errands.

    Good afternoon everyone.

Sorry that you felt light headed, Linda. I love the fancy bandage. I've never given blood as I had hepatitis C, from a blood transfusion, as a teenager.

Nice on finding what you need, Michelle. I too let the kids figure things out...unless there was blood involved, lol. Letting the weaker girls go is a life lesson in my books. Good luck with the get together.

Yummm, I love the lettuce wrap recipe Janet. Lol @ the Slo Mo. I haven't had a toasted western in ages. The new avatar is adorable.

Thank you Joce, she's much happier today. So sorry that you aren't sleeping well again. Chinese take sounds great to me.

We are heading to the cottage tomorrow and hopefully the weather will improve. I haven't been sleeping well either but it's because I have a pulled muscle in my shoulder that's sending muscle spasms up my neck jerking me awake. And...can someone explain why the birds are so happy at 5am when I can finally sleep? I have a chicken in the oven and will have oven fries and a salad for dinner. I had intended to go to Sears, huge sale, but ran out of time. Groceries are done for the week, yeah!! I did pick up some king crab for tomorrow's dinner and can't wait to eat it. I probably won't be back until late Sunday so have a great weekend everyone.

I think I was the only one who got a bow and the only one who almost passed out. The techs were great, there were 2 of them, both young, a girl and a guy and it was the girl who drove the big red bus!
The band and bow were of the stretchy rubbery fabric stuff Janet.

Nice of finding the board shorts you were looking for Michelle. I too hope the weaker girls won't take the cut so bad and move on to other things. It's life and something that needs to be learned and handled.

What was the movie you watched last night Janet? I have house cleaning to do too but am in no mood to partake in it today.

Oh Joce, I do hope you get relief and sleep soon. Chinese sounds good. Are you at least able to lay down for a bit during the day?

I hope being at the cabin will help you sleep and relax Bren. Magnesium is so good for muscles and sleep ... Magnesium oil to rub into sore muscle and Epsom salt soaks to help with sleep. I've had a hankering for roasted style chicken in the crockpot. Need to get to Costco for chicken though and they are the source in town for organic.

I'm making a grocery list now. I'll pick DH up early tomorrow and then spend the day here back at the house. We will do what we did last weekend and pick up groceries for lunch and dinner for Saturday and Sunday. Thinking one day of roasting a pork loin with veggies and not sure yet for the other ... perhaps fish if they have anything wild caught that looks good.
It's getting dark and cloudy and looks like we may get some rain soon.

Hello all. That is one fancy bandage Linda. So cute that they did that for you. I love it when people, especially young people, do a bit extra. Good luck with the meeting tonight Michelle. It's a tough thing but perhaps it will make the girls work even harder to excel next season. I did finally get a full nights sleep last night. Sorry you are still having problems sleeping Joce. My husband has a cup of Sleepy Time tea every night to help him sleep. He's always thinking about business and it's hard sometimes to just turn it off. But he swears by that tea. It's made by Celestial. Don't know if you have that brand in your area but it might be worth a try if you like tea. Enjoy the cabin this weekend Bren and yum on the king crab!

Think we are just ordering pizza tonight. I really don't feel like cooking. Been a long, hot day. Just want to get in my jammies and enjoy some mindless tv and play with my kitty, lol! Have a few errands to do tomorrow. Need to get to the grocery store and stock up a bit plus get some things for the boys while we are in St. Augustine Sunday and most of Monday. Pantry and freezer are nearly bare as far as quick and easy things for them to eat. Think I'm down to just a pound of ground beef and a couple chicken breasts so want to stock up on meat too. Don't want to come back on Monday and have to do it! Hate starting the week like that.

No rain in sight here right now Linda. Actually a very pretty day.........but HOT!

Enjoy the rest of Fabulous Friday all! If I don't have a chance to pop in before we leave hoping all have a wonderful weekend!

Goodness at getting Hepatitis C Bren. Sorry you're not sleeping well either and OUCH on the pulled muscles in your shoulder. LOLOLOL @ the happy birds at 5 a.m. RIGHT!!!! We sleep with two windows open in our bedroom. The blinds are closed so it's not bright but holy smokes, as you say, 5 a.m. the birds wake up in a GREAT MOOD. They sing their little hearts out for a good half hour and then I guess they go in search of breakfast as it seems to quiet down. :) Silly birds. Your dinner sounds wonderful. Sounds like Sears is really having some financial troubles eh! It'll be a downright shame if they disappear off the face of the Canadian retail market. I know people who live in small towns rely heavily on their mail order business. King Crab! Luckyyyyyy! Have a great time at the cottage! Sending good weather vibes your way.

Well I still think that's the very fanciest bandaging job I've ever seen Linda. :) I should download that photo, bring it with me the next time I donate and tell them I want one just like it. LOLOLOL. The movie we watched last night was "LIght Between Two Oceans". It was a little depressing. The night before we watched "Silence" with Liam Neeson. That one was REALLY depressing. Tonight I have one called "Toni Erdmann". "Rotten Tomatoes" gives it a 4 1/2 star so here's hoping. :) I saw some small perch fillets in the grocery store this afternoon that looks deelicous!

Glad you slept better last night Kimmer. I'd so love to order pizza tonight but the chicken is already marinating.I am in my p.j.'s already though. :) How far a drive is it for you to get to St Augustine? Enjoy your weekend.

I had a busy and successful shop. The Costco parking lot was CRAZY but the line ups weren't too bad. Picked up some huge packages of cold cuts for lunch one day next week and a ton of meat, pork tenderloin, chicken thighs (that smelled nice and fresh this time YAY), and hamburgers. Stopped at my girlfriend's flower shop and bought some red and white flowers for Canada Day bouquets and then went to Sobey's for all the other grocery items I needed. I'm well stocked now although I'm sure as I go through the weekend I'll discover I'm missing something and will have to go back in on Mon. :)

I am in my jammies now as well Janet. It's a 3 1/2 to 4 hour ride to St. Augustine from here. Just depends on traffic around Orlando. Hate Orlando traffic!!! Really kind of hate Orlando period. You have to live here to understand that I guess, lol!

    Sleep Jammie Sweet All...........as always..............
