Fajitas Friday

Morning everyone!! On my third cup of coffee :) Not much on the to-do list today. I've decided to try and recreate this "hot sauce" that comes with the tacos at my little drive through donut shop down the road. It is SO GOOD and I could eat it by the spoon full. It's kind of a pasty consistency and the lady who makes it said she makes it with dried chili's and that is all she will tell me lol. Thanks lady! Anyway I was browsing Pinterest and found this recipe which at least looks like it, so I am going to give it a try

Tonight will be these fajitas Tylers Ultimate Flank Steak Fajitas And Guacamole finally found a decent deal on flank steak. Hope everyone is enjoying the day :)

    Hi Michelle..everyone;)

The hot sauce sounds so good..we love trying different salsas and hot sauces! I know Rick would love the recipe of Tyler's..hard to find flank steak at our store up here though..limited meat section and all.

Rick has a couple of jobs tomorrow, I guess I'll go with him..then he will check out a rental than needs a new door on Sunday, the owner wanted to wait until the renter's are out of the house..I think the GD is gone, like someone took it down..I'm pretty sure that's what Rick said..sometimes I don't listen like I should.:-)

Making Beef Taco Bake (using ground turkey and I'll add some jalapeno & onion) for dinner a salad to go with..it's super easy and we liked it the last time I made it:)

Hope everyone is doing well! Happy Friday!

    Wow slow day today.
    Yay for weekend.
I got up and ran again today. Let me tell you getting up at 4:30 am is no walk in the park but I feel great after the run. Now I hit a wall and ready for a nap. No big Friday night plans.

Hi Marie :) Flank steak is harder and harder to find for some reason, could be why the price for it has risen so much? Lol at not listening like you should, I think we all do that sometimes :P Yum on your dinner tonight, I'd add some chopped garlic too!

Hi Laurie, you are a trooper with your morning runs!

The hot sauce paste came tasting great, but the seeds were still really hard and I tried putting it through a seive but it was just too thick to go through. Should I have soaked the seeds too? Anyway, I think it will be okay when cooked in with something, like scrambled eggs.

Okay I'm going stir crazy without the kids here!

Michelle, flank steak sounds great! Enjoy your kid free time! Have a glass of wine with the fajitas and kick back and relax. I hadn't noticed the cosy of flank steak but will have to look it up next time we are at the commissary. Everything seems to have jumped in price, esp. meat, so am not surprised.

Ha ha on not listening like you should, Marie.

Go for it, Laurie! I was doing good to walk after the long drive and hard bed. The Hyatt is expensive, but the staff is nice and they do have a nice couple of restaurants indoors. No driving until tomorrow morning.

Thr church convocation is over. Lots to report back to the congregation! We will give a talk on it Sunday. Next year is in Anaheim, California, but am not sure we are going. We shall see.

Wayne is asleep on the bed and I am sitting with legs propped up, listening to the sound of airplanes landing or taking off. See you all later. Hi all.

So the job I wanted and did not get last week emailed me today that they changed their mind and want me to come in Monday to interview with their chief financial officer on Monday. So strange I was thinking about how that would have been the perfect job this morning.

Had a great dinner....New York strip steak, asparagus, arugula, balsamic glaze, and grated ?? Mozzarella ?? Cheese. Overpriced. Coffee was good but sweet potato cheesecake was super.

Sorry about the job. It is so frustrating to wait and wonder! Crossing fingers you have better luck with the interview on Monday.

Leaving tomorrow morning. Long trip, we hope to make Springfield by nightfall so the trip to church won't be so long. After church it is HOME! Yippee!

Michelle, is your part of Texas as arid as near Wichita Falls and Dallas? Water restrictions were lifted in W.F. In June. But it still looks dry.

Tired and am going to bed shortly. Hi everyone.

Have a good trip home Karen! Your dinner sounded great, where did you eat? Yes it is super dry here right now....only a few little drizzles since I was talking about it raining all the time (I think mid. June?) My parents have water restrictions right now and they live an hour away. Waiting on the phone call for restriction requirements any day now. We haven't been watering our yard anyway, so no biggie...I would LOVE a good long rain though!

Have a safe trip home Karen:) I have never heard of a sweet potato cheesecake:) I BET it was delish!

Ditto on what you said Michelle...I would adore a good long rain..they are talking El Nino this Winter and it does sound promising for some good precipitation..fingers crossed..we are on water restrictions as well..we don't have a lawn so no worries there, but our pine trees are looking pretty sad..we were even thinking one was dying. We need to get an arborist out to look at it..and the others..I hope we don't have to have any removed..talk about expensive and I just hate seeing a big pine tree cut down....

Good luck on the job Laurie:)

    Goodnight all:)
