Fall Friday

Good Morning Everyone!! Yes that's right, today is the first day of Fall. Summer is officially over and hopefully the hurricanes, mosquitoes, fleas, ticks, sunburn, wildfires, heat, and every other thing we don't like. Fall is my favorite time of year!! for so many reasons.

It's also Marie's Birthday ... Happy Birthday Marie!!! Wishing you all the best today.

Weather has been nice here. It's warm but not scorching hot. Landscapers cut the grass yesterday and cleaned a lot of junk up so it looks nice.
I was such a lazy bum yesterday and didn't accomplish anything but will today.
Sometime before noon I'll pick DH up and we will go to the gym and then stop at the grocery store for some items and then head back home for the weekend. Nothing planned yet and will play it as it comes.
What's everyone else have planned for the weekend?

    HAPPY AUTUMNAL EQUINOX EVERYBODY!

Good Morning Linda! Fall is my favourite time of year as well. Jim and I are heading to the Carp Fall Fair after breakfast. It's very close by where we always go on Saturday's to the Farmer's Market. They'll have vegetables and pies and animals on display in addition to the rides and cotton candy booths. It's always a fun time. I saw the movie "Cider House Rules" but never read the book. The books are always better.

Supposed to get up to 27C/80F this afternoon. Jim and I want to grill something for dinner but haven't exactly figured out what yet.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIE! What are you doing today to celebrate?

Glad the Terry Fox Run went okay yesterday Shona despite wet socks and shoes! Jim would adore your stirfry.

My Mom moves in to Riverview Manor today so am hoping that goes smoothly.

Can hear the Geese flying by overhead. So pretty. Wishing everyone a most lovely day!

Morning Linda!! I love Fall, hopefully we will feel some cooler weather here in Texas, but I doubt it lol. Unfortunately hurricane season doesn't end until November, I didn't realize how long the hurricane season was until I looked it up a few weeks ago! You deserved a lazy day yesterday, hope you enjoyed it, and good luck with you busier day today :)

    Happy Birthday Marie!!!

Caiden's soccer game got cancelled last night due to rainy weather so the make-up game may be tomorrow, but not sure. He has his Ninja Warrior make-up class in the morning from Labor day, so hopefully if they do have a game, it won't over lap with that. Also have a birthday party to go to tomorrow evening.

Yesterday I had my dreaded well woman appt. with my new doctor. It went okay, but I miss my old doctor who retired 2 years ago, things ran so smoothly there that I think any new doc. will not be up to my standards lol.

Not too much on the agenda today, going to try and bake a "quick" version of homemade cinnamon rolls to heat up for breakfasts in the mornings. Found a recipe for it, so hopefully it works out. Have no clue whats for dinner yet, I think all I have in the freezer is beef or chicken lol, so not much to choose from. I need to make a run to the meat market I guess! That's about it, wishing everyone a great TGIF!!

A shame Caiden's soccer game got cancelled Michelle. Fun on the birthday party tomorrow. Also a shame you're not as fond of your new Dr. Mine is new retiring and I'll be very sad to see her go. Yum on cinnamon rolls. You're making me hungry. Best go rustle up some breakfast. :)

You definitely earned your relaxing day yesterday, Linda. I love the Fall as well.

Have fun at the Fair, Janet.

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday, Marie! I hope you go somewhere to celebrate it.

I know they say that hurricane season ends in November but Katrina was in January so I guess the season isn't laid in stone, Michelle. Sounds like you might be busy tomorrow again. Lol @ your dreaded woman appointment:) I hope your cinnamon rolls work out for you.

Not much happening here as usual. I need to clean the hardwood floors and dust and if I feel like it I will tackle the bathrooms. Den will have his normal fare of rib eye steak and oven fries and it is too early for me to think about dinner yet.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Yeah, I guess the hurricane season is pretty unpredictable Joce, that's too bad :( I think I'll clean my wood floors again too, I just did it a couple days ago, but they already look dirty again! I will not be getting hard wood in my next house, tile all the way, so much easier to take care of and not every little thing shows up on it. Will be doing what I think is called "invisible grout" Where the grout line is so small you can hardly see it, my parent's recently got it in their house and it looks fantastic :)

Got the dough proofing in the oven, went ahead and am using a not quick cinnamon roll recipe, most quick one's called for instant yeast and I don't have it. I saw one that doesn't call for it, but it uses ricotta in the dough, which I don't have either.

I think since we don't have anything going on this evening we will do homemade pizza's! Figure I already am in the baking mood, so I'll whip up a couple of crusts as well :) Hope we have pepperoni in the fridge for the kids though :

Thank you everyone for the Happy BD wishes! I do feel older for some reason..sigh LOL

Rick just left to pickup my BD cake he ordered, hope he remembers the ice cream to go with..he took the day off for my BD..after our delivery, we will have a late lunch at Feather Falls Brewery in Oroville...http://featherfallscasino.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Menu-071217.pdf we were thinking dinner but I'm not into going later in the evening when it's totally crowded and noisy..(old people don't like crowds or noise..LOL) it's kindof a sports bar as well..we will either have a pizza or sushi..sounds weird..but both are excellent..we'll decide at the last minute I'm sure..

We actually had a little rain last night..it's 50F here..unbelievable!

Have a lovely day my friends!

Just a quick hello then have to get back to reconstructing my once organized kitchen counters. Sigh. Already pitched / relocated husband's flashlight chargers and iPhone charger (it died so goes to trash, not my counters),and cleaned the area by the backsplash areas (just painted walls but you get the idea).

Sounds like you have a busy day, Linda.

Hope your mom's move goes smoothly, Janet.

Joce, if you really enjoy dusting hardwood floors, mine are desperate. Ha ha.

Yum on the cinnamon rolls, Michelle. I gave up on yeast rolls -- my hands are not so adept at kneading the dough any more. They sound so good though!

Yes, Marie, I also have "old people" ears for sure when it comes to noise. One trip to Buffalo Wild Wings was enough for a lifetime. Their food is good but my ears hurt by the time I left, and one waitress commented her ears often rang after work for a while. Not good! Happy Birthday.

Fritz is in trouble. He was left alone ten minutes this morning and destroyed a pen he got from the BACK of Wayne's desk - he had to stand in the chair and put his front paws on the desk and lean w-a-a-a-a-a-a-y back to grab it. Bad bad dog.

Messed up my foot again. If it doesn't heal right I will make an appt for an EMF treatment. (Pulsed electromagnetic frequency). It worked great the last time. I would buy a home machine but at $21,000 it just a tad over my price zone -- ho ho!

Laundry awaits. Best put stuff in drier and another load in washer. The guys are outside working on brush-hogging the lane. Due to heat they will stop at noon and we will probably run to Edgar Springs for lunch. NO COOKING TODAY! Well, at noon anyhow, and with a big lunch we will probably just have a processed thingy of some kind -- even tho it is NOT good for us.

    Enjoy your day.

Hi Marie!! How nice Rick took the rest of the day off for your Birthday, enjoy your lunch out! I would go for the Indian taco or the seared Ahi :)

Hi Karen :) People seem to think my kitchen counter is the place to put anything and everything also. Drives me crazy. A cluttered kitchen counter and dining room table is probably one of my biggest pet peeves, probably because they are some of the first things you see when you walk in my house. Hopefully your foot starts feeling better, what happened?

Finally got the cinnamon rolls in the oven, this is why I wanted to make a quick version...takes half the day to make regular one's lol, with all the rise times, but that's okay, everyone loves them so they are worth it :)

Good luck with the house work Joce. Den's dinner sounds scrumptious. Hope you find something yummy to eat as well.

Home made pizzas sound like fun Friday night fare Michelle!

Sounds like you have a most excellent birthday celebration planned Marie. That's nice Rick was able to take the majority of the day off! Jim and I tend to prefer to go out for lunch as opposed to dinner as well. It's nice to be at home for dinner so we can just sink in to the lazyboys afterwards and relax as opposed to drive home, etc. The Feather Falls growlers are a cool shape! I've never seen that before. They have a great menu. I'm eyeing up the combo platter with Korean ribs, wings, shrimp and onion rings. The Surf and Turf burger with a seared prawn and lemon aioli also sounds yummy. Great selection!

Hope the ink from the pen didn't go too far Karen! Sorry you hurt your foot again. Enjoy lunch out.

I'm dying for one of your cinnamon rolls Michelle. :)

Jim and I had a nice time at the fair but holy kamoly it was smokin' hot. I got a kg. of local honey for $11 and also bought a small bar of honey glycerin soap. Jim had a beer tasting at a new Craft brewery booth. Saw lots of farm animals and some beautiful horses. Always a fun time.

Good afternoon all. Just a quick Hi here. Happy Happy Birthday Marie!!! Sounds like a good time at the fair Janet. I'm kind of more an out to dinner girl. Always an opportunity to have an adult beverage, lol, as I don't really keep much alcohol in the house anymore. And dinner makes the most mess of the kitchen, lol!

Speaking of going out for dinner, think that is what hubs and I will do tonight. Haven't really been out to eat since Irma came to see us. Boys both have other plans. Starting to feel a bit under the weather though. So hoping I don't catch Cayce's sickness. Benny did and has been miserable.

Enjoy the rest of the day all.

Hi Kimmer. Enjoy your dinner out. I think what also adds to the fact that Jim and I prefer to go out for lunch than dinner is also that we live a fair ways from the restaurants so it's more of an effort than if we were right close by. And I do always have wine in the house. LOL. Sure hope you don't get sick. :( Take good care.
