Flat out Friday!

    Good Morning Everyone!
I just wanted to let you know I am really Flat Out today. I put my back out yesterday and now I am flat on my back most of the time. From past experience with this, it starts to get better in about a week. I just wanted you to know in case I am unable to get up and get on here. I didn't read back on yesterday's thread and I hope all is well with everyone.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

    Good Morning Everyone.

So sorry to hear about your back Joce. Geez, we have all had our share of woes here lately. I hope you feel better soon. What on earth did you do to throw it out?

Nothing much going on here today except I will unpack some boxes as DH seems to be ok with it. Have some stuff to run over to GoodWill too. That's about it for now here.

Good Morning, Linda. I was just walking up the stairs from the basement actually. I have osteoporosis and it might have something to do with that. I was given some pills to make the bone grow back, however, I can't take them unfortuneately b/c my body doesn't put calcium in the right place. I have a great messaging mat with heat and it helps. Good luck unpacking boxes today.

Oh dear Joce! Feel better soon. Back pain is nasty. :( I've not heard of pills to make bone grow back. That's pretty cool although sad you can't take them. I was born with a slight curvature in my spine and when I was younger my back used to go out on me on a regular basis and I would lean to one side quite severely for a few days until it would pop back into place and I could stand straight again. It was always so tiring. :( For whatever reason now I'm older it doesn't go out on me although I still do get some pain. Set out on that massaging mat with a book and try relax.

Good Luck with doing more unpacking Linda. I really need to go through my store room in the basement and rid of more stuff myself. But it's dark and not pleasant in the store room so not something that appeals at the moment. :)

Had a poached egg on a slice of my homemade toast for breakfast then headed over to see my friend and have a cup of tea. Had a nice visit. Rain started on the way home but nothing serious. Supposed to turn into freezing rain this afternoon.

Your meatballs over egg noodles for dinner last night sounded yummy Kimmer. Hope your Grandson had fun playing baseball. You'll be pumped to go watch him tomorrow.

Fun with the puppy yesterday Bren. What kind was it? Your baked chicken schnitzel looks yummy. I used to do something similar to that years ago and serve it with spatzle mixed with a bit of butter. Deelish.

Shona, thinking of you and Colter and hope you're both mending.

Hockey game on this evening and I'm going to make Shake n' Bake chicken with
    Shake N Bake Potato Balls
for dinner this evening and poke around in the fridge to see what veg to go on the side.

Having a whale of a time with Ancestry.ca

Have a great day everyone. TGIF! :)

    Good morning.

Too bad your back went out Joce. Ouch! Hoping it improves soon. Osteoporosis could certainly be a factor.

Wayne has had back problems, often severe and his would go out for no apparent reasons. If you can locate a naturopathic chiropractor, he/she may be able to help. They tend to be more easy going. Wayne has not had his pop out for over a year now. He is still cautious especially when he bends down to pick something up. I usually try to do that for him, less apt to not be able to get back up. Aargh!

Hi Linda. Nothing going on today except take GS to swimming practice later. Meanwhile I am doing laundry! No idea whether to eat out or fix something at home. Somehow eating out seems the better choice....ha ha! We too have bunches of stuff we need to donate to charity. With the warm weather we are having, the winter clothing will have to be washed and hung up until next fall....we have some Carhart coveralls and a jacket that are in super good shape, we have expanded or they have shrunk (JOKE).

Expetting a low in the 23F range tonight with wind chill of 15F...good night for staying inside.

    See you later.

Oh no Joce! It's seems we have many an injured person here on occasion! That must be painful, ouch, I hope you mend up quickly!! Judging from how horrendous my Mom's osteoporosis pain can be, I feel for you--Hugs--and take care :)

Hi Linda, good luck with unpacking and such :)

Hi Janet, I've been going full-time on my ancestry these past few days--it's addicting isn't it!? I gave up on my paternal side and I'm focusing on the maternal side, and wowie have I had fun researching and adding to my tree!
I've got to try those shake n bake potato balls soon!

Hi Karen, lol, I vote the overalls shrunk ;) ...keep warm and enjoy a cozy evening inside! :)

Thinking of you and your pup Kimmer

It's a snowy day today, just some light powdery snow but it's accumulating. I ordered some grocery's online for Pete to pick up (Thank goodness for online ordering!!)
At the moment the fridge and pantry are bare, but we have some perogies in the freezer, a few rashers of bacon and some coleslaw I can whip up for dinner tonight.
I've just been doing a lot of family research and started a free website for my maternal side on myheritage.com. I was excited to start a new one since my paternal side is already filled up (you can only have 200 people per family tree for free) I didn't think you could have more than one site, but you can! It makes sense since we all have 4 grandparents to start with!
Colter is doing much better, he has a wrist guard on just in case. I'm feeling much better, the anti-flams have really helped but I will keep the sling on just so I don't over do it.
Roxy went to the vet, long story, but she has a sore on her tail and is on lots of med's right now--poor girl..I guess that's the 3rd bad thing to happen!
Well, gota run...the gas company is coming to install a new meter and he has to come inside to turn everything on and off...

    Have a great day!

Hi Shona! Indeed, Ancestry is totally addictive. Very good to hear that both you and Colter are feeling better. When do you go back to see your Dr. to see what's next? Oh dear for Roxy. Poor thing. Hope she feels better soon as well. Perogies sound yummy. Enjoy. You can keep your light powdery snow there (or send it to Karen if she's still looking for some), but please don't send it to us. Enough is enough is enough. We're getting a taste of spring and even though I know we're sure to get more snow I'd rather pretend we won't for now. I belong to a Bird Watch site and someone posted on there today that they had red-winged blackbirds returning to their yard on the Quebec side. That's a sure sign of spring.

Good afternoon everyone. Oh no, Joce. Back pain is just awful, I hope that you heal quickly. I too didn't know that you could take pill to regain bone growth.
Good luck with your unboxing Linda, not the type of thing that I enjoy but a necessary evil.
The puppy is an Italian Spinone Janet and she's adorable. Thanks Janet, the chicken was really good, I've never thought of serving it with spatzle but will do that next time. I have your potato recipe saved but there never seems to be any leftovers.
I vote Dinner out Karen. Lol @ your clothing shrinking.
I'm with Janet, Shona please keep the snow there. It's been mild here and I'd like to keep it that way. So happy that Colter is doing well. That''s great that you can order your groceries and then have Pete pick them up. Yikes on the torn nail, that's painful.
Have fun with your Ancestry Janet and Shona.
I saw a pair of cardinals in the back yard yesterday, so pretty. Dinner is going to be steamed cauliflower with salmon and honey/red potatoes in the oven.

Hello all. Oh my Joce, take care! Glad to hear you and Colter are doing better Shona. I have dabbled a bit with ancestry stuff but haven't gone full into it yet. But one thing that I am planning to do. My problem is with my father's side, which is actually the one I am most interested in. That side was predominately Native American and there are not many documents or info around for them. All I really have is memories of people and how they lived their lives.

Linda, the meatballs aren't really much of a recipe. I use frozen meatballs. Actually love Walmart's Great Value Homestyle brand. They are delightful little beauties! Not pre-seasoned to much as with frozen Italian meatballs and seem to take on the flavor of whatever you are making with them. Don't make home made ones much anymore. Don't have the patience to make up that many lil meatballs, lol! I do still sometimes make bigger ones for spaghetti or meatball subs. But for something like over noodles that is my go to brand. Other than that I just mix 2 cans cream of mushroom soup, a cup of milk and a couple tablespoons worchestershire sauce together. Bit of pepper. Pour it over the meatballs with a cut up onion and let it cook about 8 hours in the crock pot on low. Comes out delightful every time and a fav around here.

Well, Charlie actually ate some today. Which is a huge thing! He hardly eats. Wanted his walk this morning and took my husband for a bit longer one than normal. Been a bit more alert today too. It's just one day at a time. And we are good with that.

Dinner tonight is leftovers! Whatever you find to warm up! Got chic breasts with mashed potatoes, pork chops with some boiled potatoes and meatballs with noodles. So have at it. Have cooked big time all week but ain't cooking tonight, lol! As for me, I will have meatballs!

Might not get back tonight so will offer up a Sleep Sweet All..............as always.............

I googled the Italian Spinone puppy Bren (almost sounds like a type of ice cream doesn't it? :) They are indeed adorbs. Yum on your salmon. I didn't make any fish this week so I really should short list it.

Glad Charlie had a little something to eat Kimmer. That is crazy how he still likes to go for a walk! I'm glad he had a nice day today.

Jim got half of the rumpus room flooring laid and it looks fabulous. What a difference! We've got a fire going now and I'm about to put the chicken in the oven.
