Foolish Thursday? Happy April Fool's

Put the beans in the slo-cooker. Pulled some brats out of the deep freeze. Grilling those tonight, with some onions and peppers. Applesauce for our "extra".

Stopping by Aldi's to check out the ham prices and get an extra dozen eggs for deviled eggs.
No one wants to cook Easter, but no one wants to pay to go out. Hmmmm. Save money and work all day...seems to be the ticket.

morning, having the steak tips I didn't make last night. I had to go to a soccer meeting because hubby was not feeling well, didn't leave me enough time to cook when I got home from the office. Still haven't seen this thing they call sun. It is supposed to make an appearance today.

Yeah Laurie,I am waiting for the sun too.

Brats and beans sound good. So do steak tips. Rachel will be happy!

Starting to worry about Points, where is he?

Tonight is chicken parmigiana and pasta and Italian bread

    YUM! Everyone's dinner sounds good.

I think the last time I saw Point on here he was talking about working on his laptop...maybe he has computer issues? We've had pretty weather in TN, seems his weather in AL is usually similar, may be in the garden.

Got some chicken breasts marinating in Italian Dressing to grill tonight. Gonna make a tossed salad, and probably throw a couple of potatoes on the grill.

Hope you get some sun Pat & Laurie

Beans and Brats sound great Tina - love slow cooked beans in the crock pot. What kind are you doing? Navy beans and baby lima beans are my favorites.
Steak tips are always good. How do you fix yours Lauri? I know what you mean about the sun - we had a little yesterday - but back to rain again today.
Lori your chicken on the grill sounds great. I have used Italian Dressing on steaks but never on chicken - will definitely check that out.
I'm coming to your house Pat - chicken Parm sounds wonderful - do I need a boat to get there???
I think we are having Goulash tonight. It's another surprise dinner. Last night was baked cod, homestyle green beans with bacon and onions and a coleslaw with vingarette dressing. He did a good job!
    Have a rgeat day all!

All your dinners sound incredible! Not raining here today, Val. Not yet anyway...

Steaks last night were great - so was the grilled asparagus. Got away without any potatoes. Had Pat's cheese broiled tomatoes for an appy. Good red wine with the steaks. Life was good.

Got a pork tenderloin thawed from the freezer for tonight. Probably have with cranberry sauce, stuffing (StoveTop - cheating) and green beans. I love when I have a plan!

    Have a great day everyone!

Hang on to your hat tonight Donna - 25-40 mph winds along with rain. It has sprinkled on and off most of the morning here. Bet we lose power tonight - if the wind is coming in the right direction. Just pray for no crashing trees -eeek!
Your dinner sounds wonderful - Brad is a lucky guy!

Yeah, Pat, I love to brine the chicken, too. (Or anything else...lol). Italian Dressing is the "go to" when Bryan's home and I'm at work. Easy enough for him to do. LOL I love it, but if I'm there I usually make my own marinade. He'll do the grilling, so I get off pretty easy tonight.

Just spoke to him, and one of the "old men" that comes to the VFW has an awesome garden every year. Last night he brought Bryan 2 cups of strawberries, and some "strawberry onions". Neither of us have ever heard of them. The guy told Bryan they were "better than vidalias". Anyone ever used them?

Hello out there. I've done my first quinoa experiment today and it turned out pretty well. Kale and Quinoa Pilaf. Had it for lunch and there is plenty left for sharing with the folks and a side for dinner. I've had a chicken thawing all day but looks like I should have started yesterday. Theory is roast chicken for dinner with the quinoa pilaf. I got this giant bag of quinoa at Costco so I'm glad I ended up liking the stuff. It is really versatile. You can make breakfast, main dish, side dish and even dessert with the stuff and its supposed to be good for you and everything. Go figure hehe.

It was such a pretty day I took my camera out and snapped some of the wonderful Spring here at my place including my Georgia Kale. If you'd like to see please visit.

I also pulled the boneless leg of lamb out of the freezer. That will be Easter dinner here in the hood. For the first time I'll be able to use my own mint from my garden to make the mint sauce. I have no idea why, but I could never get mint to catch before but I seem to have a bumper crop going now. Are Mojito's traditional Easter fare???

The sun finally came out, but there is actually a duck in my neighbors yard!!!! I wanted to take a picture but when I went back he was gone. I hope he comes to my house. I know I am such a baby I want a duck in my big lake sized puddle!!!!
Hubby came home sick from work and is sleeping but I gotta cook that steak, I guess he will just have it later when he wakes up.

I have never heard of strawberry onions... sounds interesting. Be interested in know what they taste like, Lori.

I've heard quinoa is the latest craze, Otter, but haven't tried it yet. I hear it is best mixed in something like a breakfast burrito or such. And I don't worry about traditions either, have what you want!

Val, I'm weird, I love a good wind storm - any kind of storm. But then again, I know you are worried about the trees around you falling on your house! Whereas I would like to see a few come down of my neighbors that would improve my view! LOL How's that for being neighborly!

I heard the saddest thing about the Florida strawberry crop. Apparently it came in late and too abundantly. The price dropped so far that the farmers couldn't afford to harvest the crops for sale so just destroyed much to get the prices back up. Such a shame.

Otter the garden is beautiful. I have a black thumb I already killed the cucumber and basil plants I had growing from seeds. Last year I bought some plants and I was actually able to keep them alive so I will probably do that again.

I put up my little herb garden I have growing in front of the house. And my deck rail columns...

Wynne, chicken, broccoli and pasta would be too much for me after a trip - Les should be happy!

Sounds good, Ang. We had better weather in Feb than now.... Spose to get hit with high winds and major rain tonight, possibly SNOW tomorrow. I just bought some geraniums at Costco yesterday - glad I haven't planted 'em yet, better put them under cover....

Pork tenderloin was good, so was the gravy, cranberry sauce, corn, stuffing.... and now.... a vodka martini! Hmmmm
