Good Morning Everyone! We're looking at another high of 35C/95F today.

Ugh on Internet problems Karen. :( Hope you're good to go today.Glad to hear you had a nice meal out at Applebee's.

I was chatting with my cousin Heather yesterday. Rainy River is a border town with Baudette, Minn. and Heather used to work at one of the Senior's Home's in Baudette part-time before the Pandemic. They are recalling back to work and she will cross the border as an essential worker. Essential workers are exempt from self quarantine which freaks me out, but I googled how many cases Baudette has and the entire Lake of the Woods County hasn't even had one case of Coronavirus so I was thrilled. I know it doesn't take a lot for that to change, especially seeings that Lake of the Woods is a huge tourism/fishing destination in the summer time, but I was happy to hear the numbers for now.

Jim and I are thinking of making Fajitas for dinner tonight. Have to run in to town and get some torts from Lone Star. I'd try make them myself again with the tortilla maker but....TOO HOT! LOL.

We got a big rain storm last night around 8 p.m. and it lasted for almost an hour. Happy Happy.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

    Good Morning Everyone.

Bright and sunny here and already 85(f). My turkey chili came out good, I made it for me so I made it extra hot and spicy and used Rotel diced tomatoes with chilis. DH can't eat hot and spicy but there's plenty else for him to eat. No clue yet what to make for dinner tonight.

Nice on the rain storm Janet! I can see your plants smiling this morning. That's good news that R.R. or Baudette don't have problems with COVID, hope it stays that way, hoping it will just go away period. Fajitas sound good!

Sorry you are having trouble with your internet service Karen. It stinks to pay for something that doesn't work well. I'd keep calling and complaining and insist on a reduced rate. We are very cautious when out and always wear our masks, we have washable ones so we always have a clean one. I use bandanas folded to make a mask, they are very colorful, and too me when folded are thicker than the masks we bought. The only place we go is grocery shopping or doctor, we haven't eaten out, I simply don't trust places here yet.

    Good sweltering morning!
We are to hit 90 today. And tomorrow. Etc.
I have the same concern about COVID exposure, Janet. Some areas around here are worse than others.
I haven't used Rotel for quite a while, since Wayne doesn't care for spicy stuff, but used to use it in a Velveeta-Rotel dip (I know, processed food Rotel / non-food Velvetta -- ugh).
We are having pork steaks tonight. Have to check on Wyane's buddy's place to be sure his animals are OK while he is gone, and even water his garden. A quick trip to pick up a package for daughter. And MOWING the yard / barnyard before it gets tall enough to shelter the copperheads. Tomorrow or one of the next few days we will pick wild blackberries.
Internet is back. SLOW but it always is.
    Have a good day.

Oh -- just remembered -- bitter garlic problem! Garlic from China will be bitter. USA raised garlic isn't bitter (probably Canadian also but the article was about USA raised) has the roots left on the bulb. Chinese garlic has to have the roots removed due to possible soil contamination. Something about soils being different in the two continents and not wanting to mix them. I guess when I next buy garlic I will check for the roots!

I prefer local plants anyhow. Probably should plant some garlic.

We should be up around 95(f) today Karen. I only use Rotel in chili and too if I make a Mexican type cheese dip but I haven't made one of those in a very long time. Pork steaks sound good! Hope Wayne's friend's animals are all ok. Yum on wild blackberries, get 'em before the wild critters do. I checked the garlic I got from Costco and even though it's from a California company it was grown in Mexico so it should be ok? This variety has the purple lines running thru the skin and looks to have roots.

Yum on extra hot and spicy turkey chili Linda! Sounds great!

Sounds like you and Wayne are busy Karen. NICE on berry picking tomorrow. I didn't realize that the U.S. imports garlic from China. You'd think they'd have enough on their own. I know California grows a lot of garlic.

Now you guys have me craving Mexican type cheese dip and I've only had it like twice in my life. LOLOLOL.

Had a lovely chat with Benjamin. He looks good. He's optimistic that he can come visit next August so we'll go with the optimism of youth. :)

Made Tomato Cheese Omelettes with hot sauce for brekkie but I'm starting to get hungry again already.

Emptied the compost bucket outside and fed my birds and squirrels but I almost melted.

Had a good trip in to town. Bought some watermelon sorbet at Farm Boy and also a jar of garlic flowers that have been chopped and packed in oil. Never tried them before but it sounds like I can just use them as I would minced garlic. Also found some awesome pate in Metro that we get when we're in Quebec, a brand called Premiere Moisson. Very excited. :)

Soon it will be time for a hot tub. We've turned it down another degree. LOL.
