Friday with a capital F

Sorry, didn't have a good alliteration.

Going to talk about the tomato plants again. Giving them a good drink of water this AM. And watering in a dusting of cornmeal on the dirt as a fungicide measure of on one of the trays that have most of the yellowing leaf plants. Also sprayed all the yellowing plant leaves with a liquid fungicide. Also the Osmocote applied yesterday get watered in too.

Hope that's not too much for one morning but some of the yellowing leaves have started to turn brown on the edges and crumble when touched. That plant top I injured yesterday I could not find this morning. Didn't look that hard but I thought it would be obvious. So maybe the sling took, and the plant is on the mend. I'm sure I'll eventually find the injured plant one way or another.

So much for my green thumb. Think it is starting to yellow.

Still have left-over rice from Diva's recipe but not enough to calm a good tummy rumble. So something else is on the menu. Might just be more rice but with cheese and some salami.

Good luck with the tomato plants! Love home grown tomatoes, Can't wait for the fresh veggie season.

The Michoacan Chickent Breast turned out pretty close to the restaurant version. Posted. Not sure what's gonna be on for tonight. Can't quite wrap my mind around it yet. lol

We have a ray of sunshine peeking through...hope it lasts!

Thinking about an early lunch of nachos....hungry.
The Chi Chi's chicken was pretty darn good last night. None left whatsoever...I think I really like a cornflake crust.
Have a frozen lasagna that will probably be dinner tonight.

Weather is warming up a bit. Mostly sunny. Thinking maybe spring might finally be on its way for us....

Thinking about trying my hand at some Challah bread. My last and first attempt was less than spectacular. Doing a different recipe to build up my confidence.

Glad you liked the ChiChi's Chicken, Ang. I made it last night too. I can see all kinds of possibilities for it. Love the cornflake crunch and that it is baked in the oven.
Good luck P7O with the tomato plants. Bet things will look better on Monday.
Rain, rain, rain today. Shouldn't complain compared to those of you in or around New York. Gosh, lots of wet, heavy snow by the looks of things.
A neighbor has asked me to do some keyboarding for him for his business. Cash money - help take the edge off being unemployed.
Have a good day and a great weekend to all!

Is it Spring yet????...Shepards Pie here tonight.

Anyone else besides me think it's strange Pleclare hasn't been around at all today? Hope everything is okay.

Yes, she is usually the early bird here. Hope all is well.
Wynne I love Shepherd's Pie. Do you make it with ground beef? I had a friend who made it with lamb (ugh) and it was OK. I am not a lamb person.
Lori, Tombstone is one of my favorite movies. Might drag that one out myself this weekend.

I make it with ground beef....It's really Cottage Pie but I grew up calling it Shepard's Pie....The real Shepard's Pie is made with lamb and I can live without lamb.

    We love Tombstone!!

Maybe Pleclare has no power. It got pretty ugly around Massachusetts last night. with the winds gusting to 80mph. Lots of people without power. We were lucky we have 2 dead trees in our yard and i was sure I would see them crashed through the pool this morning but they were still standing. Other people in my town were not so lucky.
It is fish tonight, bought a piece of haddock and a piece of salmon, just doing the easy broil with butter and lemon. Pulled out my back and don't think I can handle much more.

Hello out there. I haven't cooked since Sunday and I don't believe that today will be any different. I cooked so much last week that we have just been scrounging although last night Mr.SuchAFuss needed beef and grilled us some of thos flat iron steaks. I'm thinking pizza or more scrounge.

I at least thought about cooking. I made up 3 days worth of menus to make sure you get enough omega-3 in your diet. For anyone interested in me talking about cooking instead of cooking take a peek. Wish we could paste links in here to avoid this ridiculous long URL.

With a capital F is right! okay so my back is killing me, I stopped at the butcher picked up a beautiful piece of haddock and a cute peice of salmon as well. Got to the office and put it in the fridge (thank god) then locked myself out of the office. Yup another realtor took the key home to the office that has the fridge in it. So it is pizza for dinner.
On the up side hubby came home from work with a gift for me. Love presents especially unexpected ones. It was a big bag of homade/handmade soaps!

How sweet of Frank, Laurie. It's so much nicer when they do it without prompting (if you know what I mean) Bummer on the "cute" salmon, hope it will be good til Monday.
Glad you're okay, Pat, and chomping at the bit - LOL
    Hey all!
Lori, I checked out your Mich.... chicken - sounds delicious!
That's so funny Lori, Val, and Wynne - Tombstone is my all time favorite movie! Own it too. Probably seen it a dozen times! I guess great minds think alike - LOL
That weather you all are having is nuts! Like Val said, it just pouring here - has been all day. I know I'm a sicko, but I'd love a big fat storm of some kind - this has been the boringest (yeah, that's a word!) Winter ever...
I'm making those Hot Tamale Little Bites Oh Yeah again tonight - LOVE THEM! I make extra sauce and serve over rice. Sooooo good. Anyone who hasn't read 'em or tried 'em - you don't know what you're missing....

Been so busy today, hadn't had much of a chance to do any real cooking. Making a rotisserie chicken and quick-mashed taters (from the dairy section) to go with. A bag of frozen asparagus rounds out the meal!
