Friday`s Fall Leaves......

Good Morning Everyone! It is a stunningly gorgeous Fall day here in the Ottawa Valley. I'm sitting in the family room and the sun is illuminating the Oak tree outside. It is literally glowing.

I've been sick all week. :( I did go to the Dr. and check to see if I had strep throat but she said it was just viral. My main concern was heading to this 80th Birthday Party tomorrow. I don't want to be Typhoid Mary and infect everyone. She said she figured I`d be fine by Saturday, but this morning I woke up with laryngitis. Grrrrr. I despise being sick. No time for it. I want to go in to town today and get my hair cut and I need to buy a few more groceries for Jim`s Uncle`s food bank box.

At least I don`t have to make dinner as we`ll have some cabbage rolls that I made up yesterday as well as some perogies on the side. Yesterday I sent Benj a couple of photos of my cabbage roll making and said `Guess what`s cooking`? and this morning when I went on my computer, he`d sent me a photo of cabbage rolls that he and Angel had made. He said when he saw my pictures he got a craving so made a batch too. How fun is that! I put a pic of mine and his below. He served his with potatoes as perogies are pretty much impossible to find in Taiwan. LOL. He`s becoming a very good cook. I`m pleased. :)

Hoping I get my voice back very soon. Wishing everyone a great day! I think I`ll push for lunch out. :)

Hi Janet. Yum on the cabbage rolls.

It is raining steadily and instead of going to a concert I would rather curl up in my chair. But .....

    See you later.

I hope you feel better as the day progresses, Janet. Maybe it is a good idea for you to stay home and let Jim go to the 80th birthday, party. As you say there will probably be many older people there and you don't want to be "Typhoid Janet", Lol if it was me, I would want you miles and miles from there. I hate it when people go somewhere when they are sick. Ben's cabbage rolls look wonderful, Bravo to him! Just get better quickly.

Ugh on the rain and a concert, Karen. They don't really go together in my mind either.

We are going to put away patio furniture, the lawnmower etc. today and then bring out the winter things ugh! I also need to cut back many plants and thing like that for the winter. It is a lovely sunny Fall day.

Morning Joce! We need to put away our patio furniture as well but haven`t scheduled it yet. LOL. I`m honestly not sure if I am done with the lawnmower yet or not. We shall see.

    Good Afternoon Everyone.

Was catching up on emails this morning to friends and next thing you know there went the morning. Got a much better sleep last night and we are both well rested for the day.
Decided to go out for dinner tonight but not sure where. I just don't have a hankering for anything in particular.

The cabbage rolls look fantastic Janet and too funny that Benj got a craving and made a batch too. I thawed and reheated one for dinner myself last night and it was gooooood. Bummer on still not feeling better. Not sure if I would go or not to the birthday party but if you use good sense I don't think you'll get anyone else sick. No kissing hello, sharing cups, hugging, etc., you know what not to do.

Oh No on the rain hampering your adventures Karen. Hope it stops soon. Is it an outdoor or indoor concert?

Wow Joce on getting ready for winter but I guess summer is long done and over with. Enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

Back again. It was a country music show, Janet, not a concert. Temporary brain cramp! It was “Down Home Country” at the Grand Zcountry Music Hall in Branson. If you are curious, Google GrandCountry. Com. The show featured comedy, a variety of music, and some cute skits.

We are back in the RV....Schwan’s chicken noodle soup is on the stovetop, and Wayne is walking Fritz. As soon as they get back we will have a light lunch and then join the rest for cards in the lodge. Will eat out later this evening. We leave tomorrow. It will be good to get home although I enjoy getting away.

    Hi Linda and Joce!

Glad you both slept better last night Linda. Enjoy your dinner out.

Hi Karen! Tons of people in Rainy River where my Mom lives head to Branson on an annual basis for the shows. I`m not at all a fan of country music so it would be painful for me. Chicken noodle soup makes for a yummy lunch. Enjoy your dinner out this evening too and safe travels home tomorrow.

Got our haircuts. Stopped at the grocery store and got the last of the food bank donation. Went to Swiss Chalet for lunch.

Janet, there are other types of entertainment in Branson....Shanghai acrobats, Texas Tenors, etc. even die hard, broccoli hating, non-country music fans, can find something interesting. LOLOL!

Wayne and some of the group are going to a free show at the RV resort....a teenager who probably sings country music....I am so tired I will have to wait for another time.

Fritz is on my lap. He had a good week....meeting people, getting petted by little kids, and saying hi to occasional dogs who meet him on his walks. He is not spoiled, however. Ha!

ROFL! You are absolutely right Karen. I shouldn`t be so judgemental. :) I think I would enjoy both the Shanghai acrobats and the Texas Tenors. :) Glad to hear Fritz has enjoyed his time away. Have a lovely evening.
