    Good Morning Everyone!
Tina, I LOVE the group avatar. That is HILARIOUS. Your supper last night with the ramen and tuna sounded wonderful. Purse?
I've never heard of car sickness arm bands Laurie. Very cool! Congrats to your BIL getting remarried. Have you met her yet?
Sounds like you had another good shop yesterday Karen. I've never seen "Mountain Men".
Michelle, are you all settled in? Kids must be so excited!
    Joce....thinking of you!
Marie, Shona, anyone else I'm missing....A big wave "HI"!
Had a lovely big update from Benjamin this morning so that started my day off right. He's been going to interviews for a new job come Fall in addition to all the hours he's teaching right now so has been crazy busy. He's got a good head on his shoulders and we're very proud of him. The weekend before last he'd gone on a hike with a couple of friends. They made their way up an abandoned trail that led to a Temple built into the mountain side under a waterfall. He said the back wall of the temple was the actual mountain. There was no one around at all. Under the waterfall there was a small alter and a Stone Buddha with a water pump in his hand for thirsty travellers. So happy he gets to see such wonders.
Jim has a Dr.'s appointment this morning and then we have some errands to run. May grab lunch out. Have to be back by 3 p.m. Jim and I had a patio door replaced late last fall in our family room. The old one (it's only 7 years old) is now outside in our garage. It cost us $2900 new and on Wednesday I put it up on Kijiji for $800. We have a man that wants to come see it this afternoon. Would be awesome if we got money in our pocket for it. It's doing nothing but collecting dust right now.
The Concert was a lot of fun last night. There must have been almost 500 people in attendance. They did a nice mix of music and it was a very pleasant evening.
No clue what I'm doing for dinner tonight. Jim and I have been invited to our friend's cottage for the weekend. It's near where Joce lives in Perth. We'll head down tomorrow after breakfast and then come home early Sunday evening. No internet there so can't touch base. Lovely spot. We're both looking forward to it.
Wishing everyone a super great day!

Hi Janet. Sounds like you will be having a busy weekend ahead. Good luck on the door. Hope the buyer likes it. Glad you enjoyed the concert! Benjamin must really enjoy his teaching position -- so many people complain about their jobs, it is wonderful to be doing something you really enjoy.

"Mountain Men" is on the History Channel -- I think, on Thursday night. Fat Men in the Woods is also cool. Creek Stewart takes three guys into the wilderness and they learn how to survive with only a couple of items. I don't think I would do very well -- ha! But it is interesting!

Laundry is the task for today. We are so far behind! Clutter is the main problem since we own far too many things and I have a husband who is quite reluctant to part with anything he thinks we MIGHT NEED sometime. I will make a dent in the extra stuff soon. The church yard sale will be in September. Task number one is go thru the closet and get rid of all the clothes we never wear or don't fit.

The kittens have collapsed for all their rampaging this morning. They were on top of furniture, batting lamp shades, into the trash, carrying pieces of paper all over the house, sneaking into the back bedroom and terrorizing Mary, generally being nuisances! I was ready to clobber them. It is suddenly very still. They are either asleep or hiding out somewhere they are not supposed to be. Probably the latter. Sigh!

If Wayne's buddy does not show up (well not fixed ?) we may take off early, there is "game night" at the church and every so often we like to drive the 95 miles just to have some fun playing board games or cards of some type. I am NOT a good card player. But no one cares so we have a lot of fun. Being lazy, decided to pick up some fruit to go with the pizza they are having. Most of them really go for green grapes and WalMart has them most of time. So one of the three WalMarts we pass on the way should have them.

    Tina, did your purse reappear?

    Have a nice day,

Oh my goodness it's quiet in here! Just got home. Had a Dim Sum lunch at Fusion. Very yummy. Got my hair cut. I was gun shy as the last time I had it done I got scalped. But this girl did a pretty good job and my hair will have grown long enough by next appointment to redo the 'mushroom' cut and I'll be back to normal. :) Feels good getting trimmed up though.
The corn trucks are out so we picked up some fresh local corn for dinner this evening. First of the season. Am going to grill some chicken pieces to go with. Will try find some sort of Lemon pepper seasoning or marinade or something Mediterranean? We shall see.
Good Luck with your laundry Karen. I bet everyone of us could do some serious decluttering. :) Sounds like the kittens will sleep the rest of the afternoon after all that hi-jinx this morning. :) Hope Wayne's friend's well is okay. Have fun at Game Night if you go in time. Neither Jim nor I are much of card players.
Going to make an appetizer and an early Sunday dinner meal at the cottage. Got a recipe from Pinterest that you smear rare slices of roast beef with a horseradish cream and then wrap around asparagus. I picked up the ingredients. Sounds good anyway. For the main entree I'll do
    Pork Souvlaki
    and a
    Mediterranean Pasta Salad
on the side. Will cube the pork and put in the marinade today and assemble the salad Sunday.
    Hope everyone's okay.

Am still following the Tiny Titan Arum flower by the way. :) The middle cone has collapsed now and the flower is beginning to fade but I saw this hilarious picture of Tiny Titan cupcakes that the Fitzwillium Museum in Cambridge had made up for a staff party last night and I put it in my avatar. Too funny! :)

    Hey all
Yes I have met her, he dated her in high school and they re-connected. She actually graduated with frank and I. His brother is one year older. I just don't get making a huge deal out of a second wedding, spending money they don't have. Frank told him he should have just done the destination wedding thing and if anyone wanted to come they could pay for themselves. Her parents are deceased and Franks parents can't travel.
They both had huge weddings the first time so I just think it's weird.
Got a pedicure afterwork. Needed it!
I have to cook up some steak tips that have been defrosted since Tuesday. Probably with mashed potatoes and maybe a tomato basil mozzarella salad.
My friend wants to go out for national tequila day when she gets out of work at 8:30 but after getting up at 5am I am not sure I will be awake!

Obviously it would be totally up to the couple but I tend to side with you Laurie and think money could be better spent than on a second wedding. Not that a second wedding is less important than a first (and maybe sometimes it's even better), but I think a destination wedding is very romantic and like Frank says, if people want to go they can and if they don't it's not a huge deal. It's nice they found each other again. I was just thinking yesterday that a pedicure would be a good thing. Even if I painted my own toenails. I'll put it on the list. :) Your dinner sounds great.I've seen National Tequila Day get a lot of attention on FB today. Jim actually bought a bottle of Tequila not knowing of the occasion. I'd made him a Marguerita last week and he thought we should have it again. :)
Got the front interlocked swept, chipmunks and squirrels fed, flower barrels and containers watered, chicken is in the marinade, Pork Souvlaki is prepped and I've hauled up the cooler and suitcases.
Jim has been working on the lower Hot Tub deck trying to salvage some of the cedar.
The guy seemed to like the patio door and says he wants to bring his wife back to see it Monday. His concern is that the rest of their windows are olive green? And this one is chocolate brown on the exterior.
    It's been a good day.
