    Good Morning!!
Ang, I love you too. Good for you putting your foot down and letting others know you are not to be treated so poorly. Sometimes you have to in order for others to see what they are doing. I've had to do the same in my life and whether it works out the way you want it to or not, you are the one who has to put your head on your pillow at night and sleep knowing you did what you had to for "you."....Sending my best wishes to you.
I actually got up early, got Les off to work and then caught another hour sleep. Have nothing planned today except a little yard work before it gets too hot....and hot it will be.
Making ribs for supper. Found a great deal on them and couldn't resist.

    Good Morning, dear friends.
Grilled Salmon with Feta, Lemon, Dill Slather for our dinner. Grilled eggplant, zucchini, onion, peppers and foil wrapped garlic to make a veggie dish. Chopped romaine salad, mandarin oranges, green onions and a lemon vinaigrette.
Simmering that stalk of lemon grass in veggie stock to make my broth.
Pat, those lamb chops sound so good. Have a good day, friend.
Ang, hugs love and listen to Wynne. I applaud your courage. No one has the right to use you as their doormat.
Wynne, I agree it is going to be another steamy muggy day. Ugh.
Going to drop off the other casseroles. (each family is one mile away and two blocks apart) Play with the baby a bit and then tackle the pile of junk that migrated to the dining room table. I get it cleaned off and before I turn around, someone has used it as a dumping ground for more stuff. ARGH. Fred subscribes to the theory, "if I don't know where to put it, I'll drop it here." He is argumentative today and I don't want to hear it.

Morning Pat! Very handsome Seagull and love your Avatar lilies! It is not a lazy Sunday here in Ottawa. I was up at 6 a.m., got breakfast and lunch done for Benj and breakfast for Jim and I, dropped Benj off at the Park n' Ride, drove home and stopped off at the highschool parking lot again to practice my parking.....YAYAYAYAYAY.....I DID IT! I DID IT! I was way better than yesterday and pretty much nailed all of them. I need lots more practice but it was good for my confidence! Then came home, stained the entire Hot Tub deck, and now here I am with lots of the day left ahead of me too. I was really hoping at trying my hand at making homemade sushi today and I very well may get my chance!
Your dinner sounds awesome Pat. I think I'm going to make Vietnamese Shrimp rolls in rice paper sheets and a veggie version for Benj. That'd go really nicely with the sushi too.
That's very cool Ang that you went to school with these people and now one of them is a Pastor. I haven't been in a church for a very, very long time but I do get the sense that things are somewhat different with younger people in positions that normally only seemed to be filled with 'old fogies'. Hope you enjoy yourself and get a taste of what you're looking for. Hugs.
Did you get your Pizza and beer last night Corinne? Ribs sound AWESOME! I have to call my Mom in a moment for our weekly chat but after that I may head back outside and quickly stain two Adirondack chairs and their foot stools since I have the stain out already.
    Have an excellent day everyone!

    Good Morning Everyone!
Pat, A very beautiful avatar absolutley gorgious! Good luck on the installation of the medicine cabinet. Yummy nice dinner plans. I love lamb Den does not!! Don't melt if it is going to be that hot!

Wynne, Good one Les is off and he was able to sleep in a bit. I know it is very hot there too! Enjoy you day and the ribs. Yummy!

Ang, I am sorry for your troubles and hope you enjoy Church as your place of peace of mind. Take good care of yourself and will be thinking of you:-) Big Hugs)) NO BIG GROUP HUGS!))))) I do believe in God in a holistic way and if it helps and if you enjoy it. Jump right in and you don't deserve to be treated in that manner. I agree with Wynne. Please try to enjoy your day:-)

Tina, I can almost smell the lemon grass from here. Such a lovely aroma and your dinner sounds heavenly. You are so kind to think of the families and dropping off the food is such a nice gesture. Enjoy the baby and yes what is it with things ending out on the dining room table? Happens here all the time. Yes use your selective hearing today too! Enjoy your day:-)

Janet, Right on practice makes perfect:-) You can do it! You have me pooped out just reading from your LOL lazy Sunday NOT! Enjoy your chat with your Mom and hope you get the staining done. It is going to be a hot one too! Wow! Home made sushi and rice Vietnamese Shrimp rolls quite an agenda on your plate.

I really not sure what is for supper today. A bit stiff and sore from yesterday. The laundry is calling and a few other things need to be put in order. Then I will see what we feel like having for supper!

Have a Great Day all here and yet to come on!

Hooray for you, Janet with the parking. One day you're gonna look back and wonder why you were so worried about it. Didn't get my pizza and beer last night. Ended up making pastrami and swiss sandwiches.
Joce, hope you feel better as the day goes on.......I got up to get Les off to work then I went back to bed....LOL He didn't get to sleep in, I did.
Can't decide what to make with my ribs...

Funny when men live alone they get invited for dinner but when when women live alone they don't? Probably because they know we can cook? What kind of ribs are you making?

Hi Joce! Hope your muscles quit giving you grief soon. I'm done. Switching off the on switch. Stained the chairs and footstools and still had a bit of stain left so did the bench as well. Then I weeded the back interlock. What a job! And then I tried to suck it all up with the Shop Vac but that plugged up on me so I finished with the corn broom. Am going to hop in the shower and spend the rest of the day puttering in the kitchen. Nice and cool in here but boy she's a warm one outside. Jim is dismantling our old metal garden shed as we've ordered a new one made of Pine. I'll take a picture when it arrives.
Those kebobs sound nice Pat. Corinne....there's got to be a zillion things to put on the side of your ribs. What about your nice BBQ potato recipe? Grilled Garlic Potatoes or the pasta recipe of Pat's that I made recently, Deep Dish Mexican Salad. It rocked. Or my Pasta salad Pasta Salad or one last idea....my Tinfoil Potatoes.
    Off to hit that shower.......

Janet those are some nice links for sides. Good for you on the driving. I'm very proud of you for tackling the demon. Yeah!

I can see my ankles today! Hooray! They have been hiding all week with water retention. I can actually walk a few steps. Ashley changed Ayva's formula and she has stopped screaming all the time and is sleeping more. Good News! No more Gerber for this little one....Enfamil and breast milk from now on. Her hair has lightened a tiny bit and thinned a bit. She is adorable when her tummy does not hurt. Me, too. I would guess LOL

Pat those kabobs sound delicious. I hope they work out for you.
    Joce, hope you feel better.
Hugs to you Wynne. I'm sure you'll fix something yummy.

Pat....I'm not getting the cheer for the USA. Is there a big game on?
Could so do with a nap. Jim's having one behind me in the wing chair but I'm afraid if I close my eyes I'll sleep away the whole afternoon. Have started to make the Sushi. Hope I got the rice right. Was also a little short on rice wine vinegar so added a bit of Apple Cider vinegar. Am starting to make up the Rice Paper rolls now and will do a batch of peanut sauce on the side. Am using Avocado Sushi as a guide but would like to try and roll them with the avocado and a bit of rice in the middle, then a nori sheet and then more rice on the outside. We shall see. I have no room left for patience so hopefully it'll work the first time! :)

Pat, Your Greek Baby Potato Kabobs sounds really good. I hope you get to post it!
Bathrooms coming along nicely too!! I am missing something? What is the Good Luck USA for? A sport or something else?

Janet, I will survive its just those old muscles. We don't have a window in our bathroom and cleaning the ceiling is a bit of a struggle! Even with a flat micro fibre mop from your store helps alot. We need a much more powerful exhaust fan and looking into it. Wow! you have accomplished a great deal the last two days! Try and relax a bit:-) We have one of those old garden metal sheds and it needs some paint. I keep going by the College here and the kids in the heritage wood course have made some beautiful sheds out of pine. I just drool, how lucky to have a new shed coming. Must be one of those nice ones I see at your store here very nice looking forward to that coming I bet! BTW nice side suggestions with the ribs:-)

Tina, I am pleased you are feeling better today. Water retention can be a Btch! So pleased they discovered Ayva's problem early. I walked around like a zombee for 10 months until they figured out my son's problem. LOL I remember taking a mirror and putting it under his nose to see if he was still breathing! When we finally solved the problem and he thrived after that! It just breaks my heart when they are that wee and can't tell you where it hurts. Funny how their hair can change too she might be blonde who knows?

I have decided to grill some ham steaks and Pat's grilled avocados and maybe try grilling some peaches for dessert. Which I have never done before. I was thinking of doing some sort of scalloped potatoes too or Grilled Garlic Potatoes ! Last load of laundry in the dryer yeah!

    Hello to all!

Tina...have not yet had a chance to offer congrats on little baby Ayva! Babies in the family are truly a blessing! Yes, they need to stay away from the Gerber. My daughter tried that brand with her son and he did not like it at all. Don't know if it gassed him up more or not but paid the price and went back to Enfamil. Breast feeding just didn't work out for her. My youngest, Cayce, (just turned 12 this last week, oh me oh my how time flies!) had both breast milk and formula right off the bat. Everytime he was feed formula he would scream like crazy. Come to find out he was lactose intolerant like his momma! Put him on a soy based formula and was fine!

Congrats on the parking Janet! You go girl!!

Family dinner this evening instead of afternoon. Daughter is working til 5. Having meatloaf, brown gravy, mashed taters, red cabbage (of course!) and fresh green beans that are cooking as I type on the stove in bacon, onion, chicken broth and just a pat of butter. My kitchen smells delightful!

Hope all are having a great day!

Yes, I remember you talking about that KFC slaw before Corinne.
That's neat about the Heritage Wood course in Perth through Algonquin College Joce. I tried to google if they sold sheds but couldn't find anything. We're getting ours through "Garden Shed Ottawa". They are actually made in New York State by an Amish Family who owns a sawmill. They're made of pine and come completely built. Green metal roof. Jim's very excited. Please tell us how you like the Grilled Avocados. They are on my short list to try soon as well!
Hi Kimmer! Nice to see you! Your kitchen does smell delightful indeed and 'grin' on the red cabbage. Love it!

Pic's when it comes please:-) Unfortunately, I am all fenced in and it would be not able to have a shed already built. We would have to have them come and bring it in sections and reconstruct it:(

Well, I feel like a big dummy. I had to call and beg off this morning. Purely physical reasons. Won't go into details, just the normal once a month thing, although, they are not quite so 'normal' anymore... Just all the stress as of late makes this time horrific to go through and I just couldn't imagine trying to sit through church for the first time in years dealing with that. Jenn understood totally, has been through it before. And I will definitely be going next Sunday and hopefully will feel a bit more human.

As for today, I have been in bed for the most of it. And believe it or not I feel like I actually got some rest! Even with getting up numerous times. So I am off to take a shower and try to look alive. Thank you all so much for your support. When I found this group (what is it now? 3 1/2 years ago?) I never dreamed I would make the best friends a person could ask for. This is much more than a cooking site. Love you all. :))

I'm having a glass of red with zero sprite to cool off. I'm a sweaty mess. The dining table lead to the linen closet and that was a 2 hour job of folding and sorting. I'm done. Lots of thunder outside, I may not get to grill at all. I don't like grilling in thunderstorms. I suppose I can get by in the kitchen. Or make a big salad and save the fish for tomorrow. Have to see what the resident grump wants me to do. He hates salad suppers.

Kimmer nice to hear that Ayva is not the only one with issues with Gerber. She was an angel today. She had her eyes open wide, burped, yawned, lifted her head to look over my shoulder. She was up for the better part of three hours and then passed out. Only got up twice last night, so it is encouraging. Sister and Niece look less sleep deprived and in better spirits. They remembered momma's casserole well and they were grateful to have dinner all done for today. Dropped the other casserole off with my Brother to take to the Trompke family. Their cars were not in their drive and David promised he would take it over to them when they got home. David is still in shock over Rick's death and I felt awful for him. He is grieving hard.

Thunderstorms here too. Had a short Hot Tub and then the heavens opened and we had to run in. My poor deck! Don't know if the stain had enough time to cure/dry or if it will be ruined and I'll have to sand and re-do it. Keep your fingers crossed for me please!
Prior to the Thunder storm I went out to the garden to bring in any ripe tomatoes. Got a nice little load. All of a sudden noticed two tiny brown ears poking up above the tall grass not 10 ft. from where I stood. A teeny baby deer. Oh my goodness, it was cute! Mom was about 50 ft. away just at the edge of the forest. Didn't seem the least alarmed. My heart wanted me to go over carefully and get closer, but my head won out and I quietly just walked the other way. These are priceless moments I feel blessed to experience.
Sorry to hear the Ladies US Team lost Pat. Sounds like it was a nail biter though. No shame in that!
LOL on you mowing through all Corinne's recipes Joce.
Sorry you missed out on your salmon Tina.
Yum on the Peach Sangria Pat. That looks awesome!
My Vietnamese rolls turned out A-One but the sushi not so much. My rice layers were too thick and it was missing some sweetness. Think I know how to fix it though so it wasn't a waste.
Just love the sound of the rain and the cool breeze floating in through the windows. Gonna go curl up and read and probably nod off. Well deserved I think. LOL!
