Measure out some Monday

Good Morning Everyone! We are getting a few more teeny weeny snowflakes this morning. Kind of pretty actually. :)

Neat IMI11 post on your Hobo Dinner Linda. I wasn't familiar with Hobo dinners. :)

So what's on everyone's agenda for today?

I plan on making a big batch of chicken broth. I'd also like to find where I put my cookie stamps as I hope to use them next month as part of my Christmas baking. I'd like to make some sort of comfort food meal tonight but haven't figured out exactly what yet.

My tummy is feeling a little weird/queasy this morning. Hope I'm not coming down with anything.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

    Good Morning Everyone!
We are getting a bit more snow as well, Janet. Maybe the chicken broth will settle your stomach when it is ready of course. I too hope you aren't coming down with something.

I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. After that, I will have to go wait at the Pharmacy for my prescriptions as I am totally out of my meds. Not much else happening around here except digging my boots and winter coat and gloves etc. out. Dinner is to be determined.

    Wishing everyone a lovely day!

    Good morning.

Hope you are not coming down with a bug. Maybe it is from all the travel the last couple of days. I hate that queasy, is-something-wrong-or-not feeling. Yum on chicken broth! I could use some chicken noodle soup, homemade with wide noodles, carrots, onion, and bit of celery in with the chicken, at the moment.

We just came in from freezing in a cold tent in the shade. No deer showed, although I heard one snort behind us. Brrr! I was so stiff that it was difficult walking back the trail toward the Gator. Tomorrow is the last day of rifle season, we have to take GS swim miming but told daughter if we get a deer he may be late.

Coffee is coming. Very much needed. Shower is next, then I should be warm again!

Fire Dept meeting is this evening. GS has a ride to Rolla tonight, the girl is 18 and very sweet. He has a bit of a crush on her, but she handles that very well. Daughter has given him the standard lecture on proper behavior! LOL!

Three cats rushed outside when we came back. Within five minutes, Mel and Trouble returned. Cowards! AC lasted ten minutes longer before he stared at us thru the window.

    Good Morning Everyone.

I hope you are not getting sick Janet. Maybe the traveling has you "off". Chicken broth sounds great and I hope you find your cookie stamps.

Good Luck at the doctors Joce and hopefully because you are waiting the pharmacy won't take long to do what they gotta do.

Went to the Farmers Market first thing this morning and it's kinda getting a little disappointing. Not as many vendors (the bread guy wasn't there) and the produce guy had stuff but not much of what I wanted and his prices don't seem to be better than the grocery store. Greed usually does these type of events in. Prices should be better than the store. I did buy a dozen eggs locally farmed for $5 (not even organic) ... and for a little more I can buy organic at the store. I did buy spinach, green leaf lettuce, lemon/limes, and garlic in addition to the eggs. I also couldn't help myself and bought a pastry (they are fantastic), and a piece of grouper and salmon both big enough to serve two. The other vendors I just didn't need/want anything from.

    SP Joce.

The nut case is still loose. He is not playing with a full deck, as the saying goes.

No idea about supper....probably leftover pulled pork and baked beans, after the meeting.

Yum on the FM, even if it was not as good as you hoped. I have noticed the prices at the local markets are often higher, even tho the middle man and packaging is not factored in. We pay for the restraint, I guess.

I bet it was cold this morning and in the shade just makes it all the more colder. Hoping your luck changes and you get a deer. Will you go back out today? Chicken soup does sound good. Something so simple yet so good.

Good luck at your Dr.'s appointment Joce.

And once rifle season is over Karen, remind me what's next? Sounds like you too have a chilly morning in Missouri.

A shame you are getting disappointed with your farmer's market Linda. Buying things, especially vegetables from our Farmer's Market is always more expensive than the grocery store, but that's because the grocery store stuff is bought in a huge amount from places far away. I think our local farmer's charge a fair price based on what it actually cost them to grow it and it most definitely tastes better than what we can get in the grocery store. Sounds like you did find some goodies though.

My chicken broth is simmering away. I've fed the birds and made a poached egg on toast for breakfast. Better make a stand and think of what to take out of the freezer to thaw.

The next part of deer season will be what used to be called black powder season, now is alternative methods, including pistols, atlatls (like spears), bow and arrow, black powder....whatever. I guess you could strangle one if you wanted. Aargh! I have no plans on leaping on a deer, however.

Wayne likes black powder....a .short range, cap and ball, muzzle loader rifle. I own a very pretty camoflauge black powder rifle but have not used it. They are quite loud and not efficient, but he enjoys the challenge.

There were two little deer in the pasture by the barn this morning, we just let them alone to do their thing. If they stay on our place and font run into the public lands, they are safe.

Found my cookie stamps! Yay! They were in my 'gadget' drawer with other cookie/baking paraphernalia. :) While I was in there I straightened and re-organized a few spots. Learned I had a HUGE over abundance of chopsticks. More than I would use in a life time so set those by the fireplace and we can burn them up tonight. :)
