Mellow Monday

    Good morning everyone:)
It is going to be a mellow laid back day for us today. It is dreary and overcast here with rain in the forecast for this afternoon and maybe it will reach 55 F. We are gradually getting there with a bit more higher temps possibly later on this week.
I am making a pot roast with carrots, mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding, gravy and the works for dinner. Then we will have plenty of leftovers from that and the ham and cheesy scalloped potatoes we had last night. That should do us for most of the week. LOL Duh! I can't think of much to say:)

    Wishing everyone a pleasant day!

Hi all!! Your weather sounds like ours, dreary and dark. Not that cold here though :) Yum your dinner sounds delicious!
Went and picked up the replacement veggie plants, I think it's warm enough at night to get them in the ground now. The kids want to plant some sun flower plants, so I picked up a seed packet of those too.
Today I am whipping up a big pot of beans and some cornbread which we will reheat after Briauna's dance classes.
Well, that's pretty much it for us!! Have a great day everyone!!

Yum! Love your dinner tonight Joce! Sorry you have dreary weather!
I love sunflowers, I use to grow those along my fence, and the plants re-seeded themselves every year so I never had to buy the seeds again :)
The weather is quite warm and sunny, even this morning. The kids have been outside hiding eggs on each other. My brother is going to my parents house tonight so they are going to SKYPE us later. I haven't seen my brother in two years! We use to be very close, we're only 10 1/2 months apart in age :)
Tonight is leftover ham, cheesy potatoes and coleslaw, and carrot pineapple cake!
Pete and I decided we're going to aggressively start getting the house ready for sale. We've found quite a few homes we like on-line, so we will have to get ready! I can finally open the windows and finish painting :)
    Have a great day everyone!

Hi Guys! Am (almost) heading to bed. Benjamin and Jim kept me out late. :) I had the most lovely day. Have been following along, just no time to pop in and talk. Have a lovely day. I'll probably pop on when I wake up! :)

Michelle, Good luck with your second planting. I hope they flourish this time. Sunflowers
are beautiful and they attract the birds as well.
Shona, I am sure you will enjoy your chat with your parents and brother. Yikes! Your Mom must have had her hands full with two little ones only 10 and a half months apart! Good luck with getting your house ready to be put on the market. It is the perfect time of the year to get ready to sell. We have a few new signs up in our area that have only just been put on the market in the last few days. It is nice not to have to worry about what you are going to have for dinner when it is already made like yours is:)

Janet, Wow Ben and Jim have kept you up late! Pleasant Zzzz's and enjoy your exciting adventures today. (Tuesday) LOL I have to write the day down or I get confused:)

Den has gone to the dentist to get his teeth cleaned and also to drop by the Jewelry store to get a new battery for his watch. Plus pick up some milk. LOL that is about all the exciting action going on here today:)

That is such a good idea about the sunflowers Shona, my back fence would be perfect for it!! Happy to hear you get to Skype with your brother and parents tonight! Wowee 10 1/2 months apart!! Is that possible? LOL!!!
Hi Janet, I'll check back in later this evening and see how your wild late night went :P
You are having one crazy busy day Joce lol! Just got all my plants in the ground (AGAIN) and planted the sunflower seeds. I realized I can't find my green bean seed packet from when I planted before so now I have to make another trip to get those tomorrow... Got my beans and cornbread done :) Off to dance in a few... everyone cross your fingers for me that Caiden doesn't drive me crazy there like he usually does!

Well....my Monday was anything but mellow :) but it sure was good. Benjamin brought Jim and I out to a seaside district called Tamsui. A beautiful, beautiful little town. Population 130,000. Food vendors all along the river boardwalk and then we walked down the main drag which was full of very cool little shops. Benjamin found us a most delightful restaurant overlooking the water. Had a FANTASTIC lunch. An appy tray with edamame springrolls, green onion crackers to dip in a ground pork sriracha mixture (to die for), some sort of root vegetable? salad marinated in some heat. :) thai Chicken pizza and then lamb skewers with satay sauce and nasi goreng. Gorgeous meal. Perfect setting. Benj had to leave to go teach and it was an hour's train ride to his school so after he headed off Jim and I explored the town. There's an old fort there and also a church and school started by George Mackay, a Canadian Dr. and missionary, plenty of lovely little shops....it was a picture perfect day really. When we got home Jim and I just grabbed some dumplings from a cart in the night market (so proud we're brave enough to order our own food now!) and then met up with Benjamin again who brought us to this guy's place that he has met previously at his favourite bar. The guy is the grandson of a famous Taiwanese artist Yang San Lang and is overseeing an Art Museum Gallery of his Grand-father's works. You should see this place! I think it's only open to the public on Sunday's at this point. It was fully functional until the '90's when it got devasted by an earthquake and the Grandson has now taken it over and is rebuilding it. The paintings are magnificent. Anyway....the grandson, his name is Chris, holds a movie night for friends on Monday evenings and serves up Sangria and drinks. It's held in a gorgeous room surrounded by paintings so we sat there and watched "Magnolia" and sipped Sangria on big leather couches and the time flew by very nicely! Didn't go to bed 'til 2 a.m. which is not at all like me. Today Benjamin wants to bring us to a Hot springs and then this evening KTV (Karoke) with friends of his. Do I have it in me I ask?
