Mellow Monday

Good Morning Everyone! Our cold temps continue. It`s -23C/-9F at the moment. Our snow plow finally came during the night. Jim called yesterday afternoon as our lane way had not been cleaned and the guy said his plow had broken but was almost fixed. I don`t think we would have been able to get out if he hadn`t come.

Since I only have one egg we`re going to head to McDonald`s for breakfast and then just have to run a couple of errands.

We`re going to try go out for dinner tonight to the Juke Joint Soul Kitchen that we wanted to go to last Monday night.

Our friends are going to join us this time which should be fun.

Yum on your chocolate chip cookies Kimmer. I haven`t baked since before Christmas. Your Potato soup also sounds like it would totally hit the spot.

Glad you only got a skiff of snow Karen. A shame attendance at Church was low.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Morning Janet! Glad the snow plow came, that would be awful to be stuck at your house! Yum on the Juke Joint Soul Kitchen! I'd want to try the perogies and the chicken and waffles :).

We painted all day yesterday. Only got the living room done but it took a ton of time just to move everything and there is a bunch of tedious things to paint around as well and it's a big room. Moving on to Bri's room this morning since she is at a sleepover and probably won't be home until this afternoon. Hopefully we can get it done and everything back in her room before she gets home.

Going to make up a pot of chili for dinner. Have a great day everyone!!

You two have been very productive Michelle! Good luck with Bri`s room. Are you painting the entire house the same colour or different in each room? Chili sounds perfect. I even think I might have some down in the freezer that I should pull out at some point this week.

    Good Morning Everyone.

Chilly morning, low temp was 46(f) but it's bright and sunny and I'm sure it'll warm up. At least the wind tempered down.
I have the 5th landscaping company coming out around 4:30 - 5:00 today, fingers crossed this guy has his act together.
I'm thinking we will go out for dinner after, can't really start dinner and then have him come and hard to time when he will leave. Either that or I'll throw burgers on the grill after, that's easy enough and make a salad to go with them.

MickyDs sounds good for breakfast and a trip to the stores after. Glad the snowplow guy got his rig fixed and got you plowed. Have fun out tonight.

Are you sore yet from painting Michelle? Painting always took a toll on my neck and back but sounds like you are making good progress. Chili sounds great!

I like the sounds of your security system Kimmer. Wow on the teenage thugs and especially trying to bait your husband into a fight.

How much snow did you get Karen?

    Good morning.

Glad your drive is plowed out. McD oatmeal is about all my system tolerates there for breakfast but since I like it, hey, it works! Maybe pancakes, but I haven’t tried bacon yet and try to go with bland, bland, bland when we are away from home. Debating going out to eat some evening this week, can usually accommodate my wonky digestive system at Panera’s.

What color scheme are you using, Michell? Your house should look really nice when you’re finished painting!

Good luck with your landscaping quest, Linda. Maybe this one will work out for you.

Glad you started a thread, Janet. I had nothing in mind and my brain is pre coffee anyhow. Fritz is wild and wooly this morning. My kitchen is in need. Time to get moving.

Watch the roads and traveling today, Janet. The buses are canceled and even our doctor called to cancel Den's appointment b/c of the cold weather and condition of the roads. Enjoy your dinner this evening with your friends.

I used to paint, Michelle but at the moment with my bursitis in my shoulder, it hurts to even think about painting let alone doing anything with my arm. Wow on planning on doing Bri's room so fast.

Good luck with the new landscape guy, Linda.

I hope you can eat something you really enjoy today, Karen.

Just trying to type with one hand again. I have an appointment on Feb 7 to see if cortisone shots might help.

    Wishing everyone a nice day!

    Hi Joce.

When I use the iPad I am usually a single finger typist. Really prefer the laptop. But one hand typing works well, just slow.

I guess the saying that old age is not for sissies applies for me! Ha ha! Had to stop cleaning the kitchen bec of Uncle Arthur. Shame on him. Will start again when the back muscles relax.

It is all the way to 22F now. The wood stove is cranking away and saving on electricity since otherwise we have all electric heat. At least it is winter, although a mild one, and we needed a cold winter for several years.

Well, they say it feels like -40 and that is the only time -40C and -40F are the same. It is Bur no matter which way you put it.

Again good luck with the Landscaping Guy today Linda! Fingers crossed. Burgers on the grill and a salad sounds wonderful.

LOL @ Fritz being wild and woolly today Karen! :)

Hi Joce! The roads were bad it`s true. Thankfully everyone seemed to be driving a lot slower. In some spots there is ice and snow on the road so a) it`s slippery and b) you can`t see the lines on the road so some of the right hand turn lanes just disappeared and melded with the regular lane. All seemed to be plowed though. I feel so bad for you that you`re having such a hard time with this Bursitis! :(

Enjoyed our breakfast at McD`s. Grabbed a few items at Sobey`s and then did a small Costco run. It was unusually quiet there today. Home Depot (door making supplies for Jim), Home Hardware (needed more mason jars to store my broth in the freezer), bank and drugstore then home again. Had more Italian Wedding soup for lunch and now I`m back in front of the fire and Jim is downstairs in his workshop.
