Menacing Monday...

    Good Morning Everyone!
I'm sad to say my Root Canal is a go for this afternoon. Ugh. And a cold is trying to invade my body as well. We shall persevere. :)
Noticed Elgourmand is back. I don't know him but I really always enjoy seeing his recipes and posts. :)
Jim saw a chipmunk out and about this morning. We thought they'd be all hibernated away by now.
That's so sad about the one eyed Goose Bren. :( Are you in a new neighbourhood that the construction crews are working weekends? I think you may have said something about that but I'm afraid I don't remember well. :)
Yes, it certainly could have been a coyote that attacked the turkey Karen. It'd be better if he had managed to finish him off. That's nice you managed to get the duck fixed up. We have a Wild Bird Care Centre here in Ottawa but I don't think we could catch the turkey to bring it there. Best of luck to Wayne today with his prep. Yum on your peach pie.
Not sure about dinner. We may just eat leftovers. I could pick up some rolls and make up some dipping sauce and use the leftover chicken in sandwiches. Got to get my house cleaned and my grocery list made before heading to the Dentist. It's gonna be tight. :)
And speaking of menacing....(apart from my looming root canal), here's a pic of my breakfast on the airplane Saturday. It actually was the best thing the airplane served that day which shows you how very awful everything else was. LOLOL.
Wishing everyone a really good day. I do have a Sens Game to watch this evening which is enough to pull me through. :)

It is indeed nice to have RJ back, Janet. I have been missing his posts as well! You will do just fine getting your root canal finished. They didn't waste any time getting you in as soon as you cam back, did they? My goodness, visitors already! You haven't even gotten your land legs back! I would be a mess! Don't overdo it we don't want you to succumb to a cold either! YUCK! The plane food looks GROSS!

At least it is finally sunny today! We are having leftover pork roast and a repeat of last night.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

OOOOH YUKKY stuff. Which airlines? No way I could eat it except the roll or biscuit or whatever. The so called sausage is icky. I would take my own individual size peanut butter and some crackers. Best of luck with your root canal. I agree about the turkey - guess it would be hard to catch him / her.

Wayne's buddy has a deer for us (he was given three by hunter friends who hunt but don't want the meat) so he will bring one over this afternoon. I guess Wayne will either help of I will process it myself. I have some experience with it once it is field dressed etc. Should be fun. Have to clear the freezer so we have room. Should have defrosted it earlier - ha ha.

Kittens are flying across my lap so I have to finish my coffee and get some work done.
    Have a good day.

Morning! Ugh hope you make it through the root canal ok today and that the cold stays away Janet! Holy cow, what a breakfast! Why did they shape the eggs like a football? lol. And is that supposed to be hash browns in the right corner? And a hot dog wienie to finish it off? Wow, they could have tried a little harder. Enjoy your Sens game :) :)

I have a few errands to run today. Have to pick up beef jerkey for Caiden's class for something they are doing to learn about Indian's. It's a taste of what they ate or something. Of course I get the most expensive thing on the list. Need to get a few more things as well. Pulled out kabob meat, so gotta figure out a marinade or seasoning for that. Wishing everyone a great day!

Hi Michelle. I looked closer and yipes - it is hash browns. Forget the hot dog/sausage also. Eggs? Omelet?

Cool on the Caiden's class learning about Indian's. Too bad they won't let you make your own - I may do some venison jerky if I get brave.

The sun is nice to see alright Joce! Your leftovers sound good. Have a great day.
We flew on United Karen. We're not big fans. Lucky you getting a free deer! Wow! I'm envious! I am also envious of you processing it today. That would be a fun project and so nice to see the freezer space filled up!
Thanks Michelle. I'll be fine. I'm just whiny at the moment cuz I hate Dentists! LOL. Yes, that is supposed to be a hash brown in the corner. It tasted bleck. Kind of neat on the jerky for Caiden's class. Yum on kabobs. I'm craving BBQ'd anything! :)

Janet, Wishing you well with the root canal...you will do just fine..it will be over with before you know it;) Wow on the airline food>.that doesn't look appetizing at all!
I was so happy to see RJ back as well:)

Joce, yea on your sunshine today! It's cold & clear here 33F..almost freezing. Brrrrrrr:)

Michelle, cool Caiden's class is learning about Native American's ..pretty interresting stuff for sure:)

Karen, that's great you will have plenty of venison for the freezer..that's a big job processing it, but it sounds like you all have done it before!

Bren, I made BBQ chicken calzones..they were pretty good and very easy..I just added some BBQ sauce and onion to cooked shredded chicken for the filling..

Chicken enchilada's and a salad for dinner...

    Have a good Monday all:)

Waiting at VA clinic for blood work for Wayne. He is still in line.
Yes we do process our own deer. I coarse grind for chili etc. but he likes tenderloin and roasts also. The hard part is removing the hide. He may be out of commission so either I do all or he helps with it tomorrow or plan C. Whatever that is. Wednesday he will go out hunting because the deer tend to graze after bad weather.

We have .56 inch of rain so far and more expected tomorrow. It is cool and rainy. Since he can not eat anything I will probably fix leftovers.

Weatherman is hinting snow soon but I will believe it when it happens. Have a nice day all.

    Hello everyone.

Yuck on the breakfast, Janet. I really wasn't sure what I was looking at.
I hope that your root canal went well.
The goose, it is sad. I think that someone shot it with a pellet gun.
No, I live in an older neighbourhood. No one wanted to live here when we built the house but it's since become very popular. Investors are buying small homes on larger lots and tearing them down. Three huge houses are being crammed on a 66 foot lot.

That's a lot of work Karen, I hope that Wayne is able to help you. Good luck on his test results.
That's a whole lot of rain. It's been raining here too. The weather seems more like October than November.

Hi Joce. Yum, love roast pork.

That's really cool that Caiden will be learning about Indians. Is it because of Thanks Giving?

Your calzones sound good Marie. I don't think that I've ever made them.

Dinner was marinated teriyaki salmon that Joe picked up. I really didn't care for it. Daughter was here so I made this for her Bisquick Oven Baked Chicken . I had a little bite and it was really good.
    Have a great night everyone.

Venison Jerky would be very cool Karen. Do you have a dehydrator already? And if so, have you used it before?
Yum on your Enchiladas Marie. They sound delicious!
Hope Wayne made out fine with his blood work Karen.
All done my root canal. It went pretty quickly. At the end they told me I'd have to go visit my regular Dentist in order to get a permanent filling as they only put in a temporary filling. A) ARGH and B) WHY? It sounds ridiculous to me. But I'll call my Dentist tomorrow and make an appointment and jump through the hoops. It's crazy.
Grabbed more groceries on the way home for hosting dinner tomorrow night for Jim's Aunt and Uncle and also popped in to see my girlfriend and dropped off a few fun souvenirs I brought her back from Taipei.
One of my friend's Mom passed away last night at 67. She's been battling cancer for years. She was an amazing woman and a real positive upbeat caring person. One of the good ones. :( Funeral is Friday.
Jim has lit us a fire and I've got dinner prepped. Suspect I won't make it through the game without falling asleep! Both Jim and I managed to sleep in 'til 6:30 this morning so we're getting there. :)
