Mighty Quiet Monday

  • MissouriFarmWife 9 years ago
I guess everyone is sleeping in or at work or ???

I should have titled this Mouse-hunt Monday. A.C. the mighty hunter stalked a mouse that invaded the living room this morning. He chased it under a shoe on the plastic pad by the door, then actually flipped the shoe trying to nab the rotund little mouse. It dive bombed behind the TV cabinet and escaped capture. We have a mouse trap waiting for it to emerge again. A.C. tried his best, but I think the extra helping of cat food weighed him down. He is a rather round shaped cat.

We going to Leo some shopping this morning, then I have to finish income tax information for tomorrow's tax appt. We will owe this year!

Have to go. Have a good day.

Good Morning Karen! I was up and about but too lazy to start the thread. :) Ugh on the mouse. We get them in our basement, especially when winter is about to descend but for whatever reason we have never had one upstairs, for which I am truly thankful. :) Good luck with your shopping and taxes. Have you heard how your Grandson is today?
Jim and I just came up from the treadmill/recumbent bike. I think we'll just do Peanut butter on toast with a cut up orange for brekkie as it's getting fairly late in the morning. I have some letters to write to my Aunts to send out with Easter cards at some point today. Haven't figured out dinner yet. Jim was requesting a flank steak but I don't have one down in the freezer.
SP yesterday Tina. Too bad you missed the picnic. How was the Chicken Piccata?
    Wishing everyone a great Monday.

Morning! Lol at A.C. Karen. Hope you catch the mouse!

Going to make a Sam's trip today and pick up a few things. Going to make FA's Freezer Breakfast Sandwiches to throw in the freezer for Michael to have some quick breakfast. We have a busy evening of dance and both kids have games. My Mom, Sister and Michael are going to Caiden's game and I will go to Bri's game. Briauna and I will have to eat sandwiches in the car in between dance and the game..we don't have much time lol! Hope everyone has a great day!

Up early here, I have the HVAC techs here and I on dog corral. The electrician will be here later. RAINY day here. Good day to snuggle in with a book.

Molly was staring at a wall and spooked me. I thought we had another rodent in the wall. No scratching heard. Olivia put a trap in the attic and more peppermint scented rags,

I have laundry to do. And I'm going to tackle the door of the refrigerator and purge the little jars of this and that. and wipe down the shelves since it is so empty.

Leftover chicken on Caesar salad. Garlic toast. Watermelon for dessert.

Liv is going to pick up a gallon of paint, cashmere. (think coffee with heavy cream).
I've got the pictures down...68 holes to patch, no kidding.. Air filters to change. Privacy film needs to put on the back door. Changing 7 door handles.
No way I'll get it done today. but I can try my best.

Karen, i don't know how anyone types on an Ipod? Den has one and it always seems to be a pain for him to type something. It makes him feel like he has two thumbs. Ugh on the mouse! Fortunately we don't get them in this house. I used to get them in my farm house sometimes though. I hope you catch that mouse!

Peanut butter on toast with a cut up orange sounds great for breakfast, Janet. I should do that one of these days. Generally I just have a coffee and a cup of yogurt to start the day.

    Michelle, Freezer Breakfast Sandwiches
are a good idea for Michael to have for a quick breakfast. My goodness you are going to have a busy day!

Tina, Are you getting a new furnace or AC unit or are they just repairing the ones you have? I have to purge my fridge like that one of these days when I get the urge. The cashmere paint sounds like a dreamy colour to me. Ugh on all the holes to patch. I think I saw something on Pinterest about doing that easier. I will see if I can find it for you. Yum on chicken on a Caesar Salad and even better with garlic bread. Don't overdo it today.

We are having hot roast beef sandwiches for dinner with lots of gravy and other leftovers for dinner.

    Wishing everyone a wonderful Monday!

Hi Michelle! Have fun at Sam's. How's the eye today? I can just picture you and Bri gobbling down sandwiches in the car in a mad rush to make the game. You are a busy family! :)
Your dinner sounds great Tina. Holy on 68 holes to patch. What are you going to do with all the pictures? Pack them up? My Mom called this morning just as Jim and I had come up from exercising so we just finished breakfast now and here it's lunch time already! But she was saying that she had hired someone to redo a part of her kitchen ceiling where the paint had peeled from a leak and she says it looks a lot better now. She too is getting ready to sell and I know it's a lot of work!
Hi Joce! Jim and I usually have eggs for breakfast. I like a big breakfast to get going first thing in the morning! Since Jim had to wait so long for his morning meal he requested a poached egg with a slice of peameal bacon over toast so the orange and peanut butter toast will wait for tomorrow. :) I like to eat oranges for breakfast during the winter. Always think I'm preventing getting scurvy after these long days of darkness. :) LOLOL! Yummers on your hot beef sandwiches.

I'm scanning the pictures to an usb and can play them on a kodak frame (one hole in wall). The pictures themselves will be put in albums and the frames in a yard sale. There are movie posters and silly signs on all the walls. I truly do not have a plain wall in the house. So my bedroom, the bath hallway, the kitchen and family room will be the same color. All the silly signs will be sold, along with the king size headboard, chest of drawers, two end tables, 3 bookcases, two desks, two hope chests, dining furniture and hutch, four upholstered side chairs, two sets of china, demitasse cups, crystal vases and serving pieces.. Tools to be sold SIX ladders, 15 -18 foot long extension cords (heavy duty outdoor) 3 sets of luggage, 4 picnic baskets, scuba gear, 4 chess sets, hammock, 3 utility shelving units, fishing gear, camping stove, tent, patio set, two tiki fountains, two air compressors, a jig saw, a table saw, a power nailer, yards of screening and garden tools. I'm tired already.

Yum on salmon. It sounds great.

Brand new unit, old could not be repaired. This one is more efficient and I get a rebate on my electric bill. Of course the initial outlay hurt, big time. Ramen noodles for six months,

Just found a box of albums, at least two hundred from the 60'. 70's, some still wrapped.
Oh my. Cataloging them will take days.

Since it was rainy we put off the door painting and it will be easier if I rent a sprayer.
I wish I had a bit of chocolate. Just a nibble of a rabbit ear.

Holy smokes Tina. That's a lot of stuff alright. Are you going to hire an auctioneer or sell in online (do they have Kijiji there?) or a yard sale or what? Goodness on the photo albums. It'll be fun to go through though I hope. :) LOL @ the rabbit ear. I hear ya.

I'm hiring Dan, The Clean Out Man. He hauls, sells, keeps a percentage and gives me the rest. I've been doing research on the stuff so we set a reserve price and we don't give it away.

I have to find a place to dispose of cans and cans of paint, none enough to paint a wall. Not going in a landfill. I found 3 boxes of vhs tapes, most of them The Honeymooners and black and white horror shows. I think somebody takes VHS and cassette and breaks them down to recycle into counter tops. I have nearly a thousand dollars of medications, dumped in a drawer. He never took them. Some aren't in bottles. I don't know how to dispose of them.

    I'm getting depressed.

Hi to all. It seems like O.D.D. posters are all busy today. We ran errands and did some grocery shopping and shopping. Ate at Church's Chicken, had to go back because I left my jacket on the chair!

Tina, check in with local pharmacies, police department, hospitals -- they often will dispose of meds. I agree paint and pills should not be in land fills. Would a local shelter for homeless or a thrift store accept the paint if it is not opened? It sounds like you have things well in hand with selling and moving. Your plans for photos and frames are quite good! Albums do take less space than pictures!

GS is better and went to school. It is likely allergies. He was adamant about not missing out on school. He went swimming today. His reason for going was that his skill level would not rise fast enough for him to advance in swimming.

So far the trap has not sprung, but they do come out more at night, so hopefully it will succumb to the peanut butter bait by morning. We do get them in the basement, and if Wayne would set some more traps we could get rid of them before they find their way upstairs. I guess I better remind him!

IPad typing is by one finger on each hand. It is not the greatest and I would swear that it changes words constantly. But it is so comfy to have on my lap that I tend to use it. Have been tempted to buy a Gen 3 IPad mini, just for travel so we can access the Internet easier away from home! Just can not justify getting one when mine still works!

Must stop and see about supper. See you later.

Here in Ottawa there is a Hazardous waste site where you can bring old paint and pharmaceuticals to dispose of. Cool on the recycled counter tops made with VHS tapes. Who thinks of these things? Genius. Do not get depressed. One day at a time, one job at a time. Don't think of all that needs to be done all at once. Just keep moving forward. Gentle hugs GF.
Glad to hear your Grandson didn't break his perfect record Karen. :)
    Sleep sweet Kimmer.
