Where is everyone?

It is almost noon and all is quiet on the GR front. Well, the O.D.D. front anyhow.

The well guy is here to finish installing the hand pump and the battery operated pump. Now in case of no power for extended periods of time we will have water available, even if the generator runs out of propane. So of course we will have mild weather for the next zillion years...ha ha.

I made a quick soup for lunch and some brownies, will make egg salad as soon as the water is back on so I can rinse off any particles of shell that missed my detection. Hate having egg shell crunch in my mouth when I take a bite of deviled egg. Brownies are a mix....lazy I guess. Soup is a toss-together with broth. No idea what to have for supper. Found a FB recipe for two ingredient, no flour mini pancakes. I liked, Wayne did not. Such is life.

Good that you have water Karen lol at the prospect of years of mild weather. I am totally with you on the no eggshells in egg salad. I love egg salad sandwiches but almost never have them for that reason. Supper here will be mongolian beef over rice.

I'm so with you on the egg shells in egg salad. I hate bitting into those little shards. I'll take brownies anyway, box mix or not. Too bad Wayne didn't like the pancakes, they sound easy.
Mongolian beef sounds amazing, Michelle. Is the recipe in your RB?
I am still on a cleaning binge and today the fridge will get a good cleaning.
I have some boneless pork chops in a brine and Joe is going to grill them, it's very mild today. I'll make some sort of potatoes and probably egg plant to go with the chops.

Well Bri's new rat Midnight dies last night. I don't get it, that's 2 in less than 2 weeks! I took the body up to Pet Smart and got a new rat. Bri's in school so she hasn't seen her yet, so she has no name, but she's really cute and quite a bit smaller than Oreo with a coat of white and a caramel color. They get along, but she is a little timid and I am hoping she calms down after she get's used to everything.

Found a decent deal on shrimp yesterday at Central Market so I ended up making Shrimp Simmered In Garlicky Beer Sauce which was delish!! Going to make what I was going to make last night tonight Outback Steakhouse Alice Springs Chicken along with asparagus and maybe sweet potatoes. Have a parent meeting tonight for Softball. Hi Bren, I did my cleaning binge last week. The fridge is the worst job! Well, maybe the oven is worse? Lol, good luck with your cleaning, it's good when you get on a roll :)
Oh no, sorry about Bri's rat :( We had a bad time with hamsters dying in a row like that. The vet told us to do thorough cleaning of the cage and food to make sure there isn't a virus or bacteria lingering around. Hopefully these guys you have will stay healthy! Mmm, love the Alice Springs chicken :)
I'm making Whole Wheat Banana Pancakes since the kids are home. We had a ton of snow fall yesterday! The roads are covered and slippery. I can't wait for winter to end :)

i think oven is far worse than fridge shona....at least mine! :) nice on pancakes. i could go for that!
had another appointment with the surgeon re: my arm today. he says it appears to be healing very well. he is signing me up to start physio maybe next week and then i go back to see him for another x-ray the week after.
grabbed a buffalo chicken burger (jim had a burger burger) at harvey's for lunch and then we had to bring the car back to the garage as the muffler was doing something LOUD. he welded it on the spot and $57 later we were on our way as good as new. :)
feeling oogey today. tummy is a bit upset. bleck.

Too bad about the rat, Michelle. I agree with the suggestion to thoroughly clean the cage and see if there was some virus lurking. Maybe change the feed? Good luck, hope the new one stays healthy.

I still have a slight cold with the usual runny nose and yucky feeling. Wayne is comfy and I was feeling cold so the cold is probably doing its thing. He just asked why the UV heater is aimed right at me (he aimed it earlier this morning himself -- haha) so that I feel quite cozy. No fire, it is not that cold today and we save it for colder weather.

Schwanns guy is due so must round up their catalog. See ya.
