Misty Monday

Morning everyone! I'll have to read back and catch up from yesterday in a bit. We went to eat lunch with my Dad at a new pizza place by us called Mod Pizza. It was SO good! Bri had her first Hawaiian pizza and loved it. She was unsure of the pineapple but I talked her into it and she will probably always want pineapple on pizza for now on lol.

After we went to another new place, the Beef Jerky Outlet. They had a ton of samples and we tried a lot of them. Some of the flavors they had roasted garlic, fire, crawfish (ew), bloody mary, prime rib, fireball, jack daniels, parmesan, peppered, etc. Hundreds of flavors! They had a deal if you buy 3 you get the 4th half off. I got roasted garlic, fire, peppered and prime rib.

Not too sure about dinner yet, will pull something out when I get home from the gym. We have a parent meeting for softball tonight then maybe practice if depending if it stops raining or not. Have a great day everyone!!

Hi Michelle! Wayne is a tradtionist pizza person, he will eat Hawaiian pizza if he can't get out of it....haha! I like it much better than more greasy or fatty meats. Good you could talk her into it,

We are both miserable with seasonal colds. Life goes on. Survival is imminent. I took Benadryl this morning but it has side effect of making me feel miserable. I am also taking elderberry, colloidal silver, and echinacea. Really need to try ACV and honey.

    Have a good day.

Good Morning Michelle! Fun that Bri tried her first Hawaiian Pizza. I'm a fan of that myself. Very cool on the Beef Jerky Outlet. I love the flavours you chose. Go you at the gym! Good luck at the Softball parent meeting and hope the rain goes away in time for the practice.

Well it's certainly not misty here in the Ottawa Valley. It's very beautiful at the moment. Big fluffy flakes of snow coming down. We had a lot of snow overnight and our plow came this morning first thing and cleared the driveway. Jim's just going to wait for it to stop before he goes out to clear the paths. I shovelled a spot so I could feed the birds. :)

    Making
    Pickle Brined Chicken
for dinner tonight although I haven't thought of sides yet. It's so amusing to see chicken thighs inside a pickle jar. LOLOL.

Jim and I had planned on doing a Costco run today but because of the weather we'll put it off 'til tomorrow. This winter I want to totally clean our store room in the basement and get rid of a bunch of stuff so I'm going to start that today beginning with a garbage bag of stuff that I had once upon a time in a dresser but is now just sitting on a shelf. Who knows what treasures I may find?

    Wishing everyone a great Monday!

Glad Bri enjoyed her first Hawaiian Pizza, Michelle. I like it too! Very cool on the Beef Jerky Outlet. I would love to try the Prime Rib one. I hope the parent meeting for softball goes well.

Aww, sorry to hear you and Wayne are miserable with colds, Karen. Keep warm and get better soon.

It isn't a good driving day for sure, Janet. Den stayed home and is working from work today. He figures we got about six inches of snow and it is still snowing. The plow will probably not plow our street until later. Good idea to clean out your storeroom. We have a bunch of stuff to go to the dump from our freezer room now after doing it over. When we do the other storage room we can finally get rid of other stuff too. I am sure it will be much better when you are done. Lol, it would be funny to see the chicken thighs in the pickle jar:)

Not much happening here today. I will get Den's lunch ready in a bit and we will have leftover turkey for dinner.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Hi Joce! Good idea for Den to work from home today. Leftover turkey for lunch sounds great. I'm in the process of making a batch of Chicken Noodle soup for our lunch.

    Good Afternoon Everyone.

Hawaiian pizza? I never have ... are they made the same all over? Very cool on the beef jerkey outlet Michelle. Did they do jerky in other meats other than beef? Do the parents for softball get along with one another?

I hope you and Wayne feel better Karen. Sounds like you are taking all the right stuff. I've done crushed garlic with honey ... I thought it would be "gag me" awful but it was pretty good.

Do you like Hummus Janet? Costco sells a brand that I just adore! Hannah is the brand and is organic too. My girlfriend mentioned it to me and when we went the other day I seen it so bought a tub ... I'm in love and have no excuse now not to eat more veggies. BTBB is fantastic, isn't it!

I had sold my Hummel plates a month or so ago and the woman was interested in the figurines. I priced them out and she came over this morning and bought all of them except one which she already had. I offered very fair prices, the average of what they sold for on sites like ebay, which are a fraction of what they retail for. They were of no value to me and I wanted to get rid of them so I am happy. I kept my favorite piece though and that's enough.
Now if only I can find a buyer for the two sets of china I want to get rid of then I'll be very happy.
Going to go out to dinner tonight with my new found $$. LOL!!

Yum on leftover turkey Joce! You have me craving roast turkey and will pick up a breast next time at the grocery store and I'll use the leftover for sandwiches after our first meal of it. That's great Den has the option to work from home when the weather is bad.

Hi Linda! Yes, both Jim and I like hummus. I find it's hard to eat an entire container of it before the best before date though. I'll check out the Hannah brand. Have you ever seen "Better than Bouillion" at Costco? I'd buy a big jar of that in a heart beat. That's great you sold your Hummel pieces and that you did keep your favourite one. Good luck with your china. I'm so sad my Mom got rid of so many pieces over the years without checking with me first. Boo. Enjoy your dinner out. Where do you feel like going?

Well, I'm on my second bag of goodies from the store room and discovered they both held old paperback books of Benjamin's from when he was growing up. I can donate the majority of them to the local Library. I did message him and ask if he wanted me to keep his collection of "Animorphs" and "Goosebumps" series and he does. :) I don't mind keeping things if they'll eventually bring someone a smile.

I haven't seen BTB yet at my Costco but I do see they have a 16oz jar online!
Thinking of going to the diner for dinner. It's Monday and their special is half a roasted chicken and it is soooo good. Comes with soup or salad, veggie, and potato.

Good for you cleaning up and out too and nice that Benj wants to keep some things.

    SP Janet.

Yay on the snow, Janet. We still have fog!

Any bad weather day is a good one to stay home, Joce. Neither of us are in a hurry to go anywhere, although he has a Dr appt tomorrow for physiotherapy. I will stay home.

Worked on laundry today. The goal is to put the bedroom in order and find the top of my dresser! Ha ha!

Linda, what patterns are your China sets? Forgive me if you already posted that information.....

Have two bags of my unused clothing to donate. Even my keep-it-forever husband has reached the conclusion he needs to give away some not-liked, not-fitting items.

One is an old Lamberton China Set ... Betty Lou pattern ... has a pinkish rose and gold trim
The other is Lenox ... Liberty Presidential pattern ... is navy blue scrolled with burgundy accents and gold trim
Both are pretty but I also have a Noritake set that was DH's parents and he favors it so we are keeping that one. It's pattern 175 and is gaudy with lots of gold.

Good evening and hello to all. Yum on the beef jerky outlet. Cayce would love that! I do like Hawaiian pizza on occasion. Haven't had one in a while. Great on the figurine sale Linda.

Warmed up quite nicely here today. Chloe was happy again.

Lasagna soup has been cooking away all day in the crock pot and the smell has just about drove me crazy! Almost time to add the noodles. Will serve with cheesy garlic toast. In answer to your question about left over Linda, I truly don't know but I don't see why not. Usually when I make a pot of most any soup, if I don't plan on freezing half, my daughter comes and gets some for their dinner, especially the lasagna soup. So I've never had any leftovers of that one. This won't be the case tonight as they have other plans for dinner so I will see tomorrow how well it warms up. Will let you know.

    Hope all enjoy their evening.

We went to Bonefish Grill instead. I thought on a Monday night it would be a peaceful night out ... wrong! We got there before a party of about 30 arrived in the bar. Took almost 45 minutes to get home too because of bumper to bumper traffic. The craziness has started here and being out is a bit challenging. Food was great though. We both had Caesar salads. I had a chicken dish with spinach, artichoke hearts, and goat cheese and DH had grilled Mahi Oscar style.

Do you have the lasagna soup noted here Kimmer ... it sounds good and making it in the crockpot is even better. I know a pot of sauce drives me nuts when it's cooking. Happy to hear Chloe is enjoying herself again. It warmed up here too but was damp and my bones were chilled all day.

It'll be obnoxiously busy/crowded around here Janet till after baseball's spring training which ends early April. I don't do well with volumes of people ... I prefer a more laid back and relaxed atmosphere. Is it still snowing?
