Good Morning Everyone and Welcome to a brand new week in this wacky year!

It's lovely and cool this morning but again, is supposed to go up to 31C/81F this afternoon. Jim has an appointment to donate blood this morning. (Men can donate more regularly than women) I'm not sure if they'll let me in the building to wait for him.

Not sure what to make for dinner tonight. I'll give Jim a choice between Rainbow trout fillets or taco salad. He arrived home yesterday around 3:30. My grilled turkey breast was a total failure. I cooked it for a half hour and then brought it in to rest but when we cut in to it it still had red juices. By then I'd already turned off the BBQ so I popped it in to the microwave and then that made it too well done and it was dry. Bad experiment and I won't try that again. Perhaps I should have taken the bone out after all and it would have cooked quicker and more evenly through. I put all the leftover turkey in the freezer and will just use it up in soups.

Nice that you managed to shelter Chloe so well in the bedroom Kimmer. YUM big time on your steaks, scallops and salads.

    Wishing everyone a lovely day!

Ugh on the dry turkey breast, Janet. Happens to the best of us -- LOL! I hate it when that happens. We had some chicken thighs that just would not get done -- one thing I don't want is red juices in chicken. Next time I will leave them in longer. Yes, this crazy world is not user-friendly. I can't get into the doctor's office with Wayne either, even into the main lobby waiting room at the medical building. Dratted COVID! Our camping group's corporate nixed meetings and canceled the fall rally because people were afraid of going to Sedalia. Our RV is still in the shop.

Yesterday was a frustrating lack of internet day. Ugh.

Wayne just said his buddy is here working on the fence line so I best get dressed instead of sitting in my nightgown. Aargh! He comes early to beat the heat.

Medicating cats has either gotten easier or we are getting better. Mel is no problem. Mauser at least doesn't go ballistic, although it is debatable how much antibiotic gets inside her versus how much is spit out or lands on her fur.She whips that head around in spite of both of us holding her down. Fritz is better. His allergies are hitting him pretty bad, eyes are red and he seems a bit miserable from them. Poor dog. But his cat-chasing has escalated and he seems more food aggressive. No more terriers ever ever ever. I think the additional dog is factor.

Visitor dog has settled in. He picked up cat chasing so daughter will have to retrain him. Of course, her cat is a no-nonsense kind of kitty so I am sure she will put him in his place.

I have a Walmart grocery pickup order made out for next week. But will have to go by Lowe's to get some of the items that are out of stock. I need a straw hat for yard work, garden gloves, a few vinca plants if they still have them, and a refrigerator filter. We will go very early and wear our masks. I hate masks -- LOL! Would like to order a cute cloth one but haven't gotten around to doing so. Procrastination is wonderful.

Linda, I read about this new virus that affects rabbits. It is in Florida. I know Bella is not outside much so hopefully she is safe.

Wayne is getting coffee on so I must get moving.

Good Morning Karen! I decided to stay home since I'm pretty sure they're not going to want me to go in the building if I'm not donating blood. Gotta think of something to stave off boredom today cuz I've been home and stuck inside cuz of the heat for a few days now. That's a shame the RV Rally got cancelled come fall. I don't know what it all entails but it sounds like camping is one of the best and nicest ways to self distance. You can stay in your own little campsite and have a campfire and toast marshmallows but you don't have to get close to anyone else. Ugh on no internet yesterday. :( Really glad to hear medicating the cats has got a bit easier. So you think it's Fritz's allergies that are bothering him then and that he's not sick? You'd mentioned maybe having to bring him to the vet today.

I made Poached eggs on toast with fried tomatoes for breakfast. Watered the front flower garden a bit and fed the birds and squirrels. Jim has chosen Rainbow trout for dinner so just have to think of sides.

    Good Afternoon Everyone.

I had a late morning chiro appointment and after stopped in the grocery store to pick up sub sandwiches and a few other items. We are full so it'll be something very light for me for dinner but DH will still probably eat so I'll think of something easy to make for him.

My newer next door neighbor (not the loud ones) wants to put in a generator and needed us to sign off on a document for the HOA noting the specifics which I did yesterday. The document is to make us aware because we really can't stop him if we were to not sign it. Running a generator in an emergency is one thing but he sent me an email today wanting to know if I would have a problem if he hooked up other things to it like his gas grill, the pool filter, and other household items when they need to be replaced like the oven and stove top. I told him I would have a problem because that would mean the generator would be running all the time or a lot more often and generators are loud and since his unit would be approximately 12 feet away from our home I don't want to listen to that day and night. Do people even think?? I copied our HOA on his email and my reply. So far my week is not starting off on a 'happy note'.

Nice of Jim to be donating blood. I really should again but am still a little afraid of passing out like I almost did the last time. Bummer grilling your turkey breast was a bust Janet, glad though you were able to salvage it.

Sorry your RV rally got canceled Karen but I understand why. Even though you all have your own space is it because of the community washrooms/bathrooms the reason why they are cancelling? Just doesn't make a lot of sense to me when you all have your own personal space. I think Mauser is somewhat surrendering her fight taking the medicine even though she shakes it all out. Sounds like it's double trouble with the two dogs. LD's allergies are settling somewhat but they are frustrating to deal with.

Not sure what kind of fireworks were displayed by your neighbors Kimmer (I can only imagine) but DeSantis passed a bill that fireworks are now legal for the average Joe to shoot off on the 4th, New Year's Eve and Day. Some counties still have restrictions but most don't. Glad Chloe found a safe place to take comfort in.

RHD is bad Karen, very bad. It's been around for years but has recently been spreading in the states. Bella's chances of coming in contact with it are low but the concern of it spreading to house rabbits is thru contaminated hay and most hay that is fed to rabbits is grown in areas that have had reported outbreaks.
There are vaccines for RHD1 and 2 but they are hard to get in the states and most vets won't ask for them unless you are in the hot zones.
I don't believe Florida has any reported cases yet.

Hope your Chiro appointment went well Linda. Are you feeling a bit better yet? Ugh on the neighbour with the generator. Even out here where we live we can't actually see our neighbours but we can certainly tell when their generators are going. They are indeed loud. Jim was turned down to donate blood because he had poison ivy on his arms recently. They could still see redness (no bumps) where it was and they did not want to take chances. Plus he had a red mark on one arm, maybe a scratch from the weekend or a bug bite and they didn't like the look of that either. Their loss. A shame Jim wasted a good two hours going there and back though. Ai yi yi that the rabbit virus can be spread through contaminated hay! It's good Florida doesn't have any cases.

I made up some small potatoes to put on the BBQ with the trout. I pre-boiled them first for a bit and then put them in tinfoil with salt, pepper, margarine and some dill dressing. I'll slice up tomatoes for our veg.

Too bad Jim didn't get to donate blood. At least he tried.

Glad the rabbit virus is not near you, Linda.

The rally was cancelled because of all the meetings / dinners / games inside the building. People would be less than 6 ft. apart much of the time. Also I guess vendors are loathe to be there due to Corona. The actual camping spots for RV's in the Sedalia fairgrounds are quite a ways apart. So long as people keep their kids under control etc., it would be relatively safe Corona-wise.

The number of RV's of all types being sold is super high. The dealers have trouble getting a good inventory. The repair person at our dealer said the quality is bad in the newer units, electrical switches installed wrong, etc. because of high demand, rushed production, and lack of adequate inspection after the units are finished.

I guess people want to avoid the crowded tourist centers so this is their solution. Unfortunately, they will end up overcrowding the parks and campsites even more, so there goes social distancing! Also, there is a sort of understood behavior towards others, which they will have to learn -- keep dogs on leashes, CLEAN UP after their pets, kids restricted to your own site, no noise after a certain time, etc. -- common courtesy, which is often lacking in many people. I imagine after a summer of camping, some people will decide it really wasn't for them and want to sell their units.

We prefer the 55+ parks, quiet, boring, staid, seniors only, no noise after 10:00, etc. etc. etc. Families generally pick parks with lots of amenities, pools, movies, etc, for the kids, or else state and federal parks, which seldom have full hookups, have community washrooms, and outdoor stuff galore. There is a length restriction at many of them, usually 32 ft. long maximum, so the big rigs are not able to use them.

Ours is NOT a big rig by any means, no way I would want to tow a 45 ft. fifth wheel anywhere, it is like a semi!

Fritz had allergies in addition to not feeling well. He is better. Mauser gets as much in her as on her.
