Good Morning Everyone ... at least hoping it is for you.

Karen, I couldn't stop thinking about Fritz last night. To not have an emergency vet near and thinking poor Fritz was bit by a snake and had to ride out the night .. DAM THOSE F'ing SNAKES. We have a problem with Water Moccasins but I stay away from the ponds.
Please let us know what you can how he is doing today.

Janet, how are things going for you with your mom? Hoping you can stop in soon.

DH has an appointment with his primary care doctor this afternoon, just the routine follow up visit. Thinking though about changing doctors but not right now. The doctor is great but the office runs like a train wreck. Nobody ever answers the phone, you leave a message without return phone calls, no call to remind or confirm your appointment, and if we had to be seen last minute I don't think we would even get an appointment so then what?
After his appointment we will go to the gym and then grab something out to eat.
Made some real cold brew coffee yesterday with decaf and am looking forward to having a cup this morning. I stayed up way too late last night for no good reason. Was up till about 1:00 a.m.. I decided to join Facebook and did. Our community has a private group board and it helps to know what is going on around here. Example: When we lost water Saturday night, I didn't know if it was just me or the neighborhood and I had nobody to call and check with. At least on the Facebook page it noted other people were out too and then what the problem was faster than an email sent from the management company. The thing that scared me off from Facebook before was when you sign up then a bar comes up on your home page noting all these people you might know so if you want you can be their friend ... how does it know I know these people??

Hi Linda, maybe you can tell the doctor about the front desk fiasco. We had the same problem with our ENT doc. After so many rude, abrupt problems with reception, and witnessing arguments with other patients while in the waiting room I finally told the Doc. He seemed shocked by it, I guess no one complained to him before. He moved his office a few months later and got all new reception staff and I haven't had a problem since! I don't doubt he got more complaints after me as well! I don't think doctors know how good or bad the front staff are doing, I hate offices that don't give you a reminder date. We were referred to a Neurologist in Edmonton, it was a 6 month wait and they leave a message on my machine for the appt. ......"and we don't do reminder phone calls" they said. So I decided to not even phone back and confirm. Then, 6 months later that doctor wrote us up for skipping the appt to our Pediatrician and he dropped us as patients! :/ I didn't even confirm the date, stupid reception!

I have a fake FB account to catch up on local news and our Town and County FB groups for alerts etc...I have an account under my name but I avoid it like the plague. There is no privacy what so ever. Even though I made it as private as you can, it doesn't stop FB from sending emails to other people in your friends accounts. For instance I get emails anytime a friend comments on a strangers status, photo, or even likes a Page or comments on an open Group. Why do I need to know every little thing a friend is doing, especially since it involves their friends and not mine! Then I can see those strangers photos or status updates, which means anything I say or do gets emailed to everyone as well. I don't like it! I turned off all email notifications on there, but I still get one for every little comment, so I don't know if that means they don't have their email notifications turned off? It use to be more private, but not anymore. They use that same technology AR uses, they track your search history, know what area you live in and any info on your profile page you entered and the computer just knows things, it's scary! I swear sometimes they can listen to conversions, lol ;)

I hope all is going well with your Mom, Janet. I think you were supposed to be returning home this week? I don't know if your plans have changed since the events that have happened with your Mom since arriving in Rainy River. I hope things are working out better now. Please let us know when you are able.

It is pouring cats and dogs and is supposed rain heavily all day. Gee we had a couple of days of sun and back into this crappy weather. What a wet year this has been. I am not going anywhere today. I am still working on my closets sorting things out and putting clothes I want to keep in plastic bins and the others in bags going to CP (Cerebral Palsy). I work on it for a little while then go on to doing other things. Sorting out my clothes have never been a favourite task of mine. We are having chicken something tonight for dinner.

I have Physio this afternoon and need to stop in Home Hardware for some canning and gardening supplies on my way home.
It's been hot, stormy and smoky, but today looks like a cooler day. A good day to be outside, if I have time!

Computers can spy on you! Our computers have built in cameras and that freaked me out so I taped a piece of paper over the camera lens. Not sure though if it can pick up sound but I'm sure it can. The same concern with Smart TVs.

That's great Shona you'll be working. Sounds ideal and extra $$ never hurt. Hope physio goes well and you get what you need for canning.

Hi Shona! Lol, I don't get the emails from FB but I do have a little window thing that will pop up and then disappear on my phone and laptop saying when someone posts or comments on something.

Too bad the weather is bad again for you Joce :( Sounds like the perfect day to sort through clothes though!

Michael's Grandfather's memorial went well. Was very sad, but there were some great stories told.

Today is our last day in New Mexico. Leaving early in the morning to finally go HOME!!! Need to start packing up, I am SO tired of living out of a suitcase lol.

Our communities posts can be helpful and then again I've seen the whining and complaining ones and the ones looking to stir up trouble.

Have a safe trip home Michelle. I bet it will feel so good to be home in your own house, in your own bed, with your own things!

Good morning. We took Fritz to the vet this morning. They were raccoon sitting....one of the girls had a 3 month old raccoon that they were babysitting while she was on vacation. It made a chirr sound as it crawled around and got into everything that was not nsiled down! The mask was large and square. It was adorable but I firmly believe they are not meant to be a domesticated pet. They often turn mean at about age two.

Fritz is slowly improving. He is quite tired and even lay down while riding in the truck instead of sitting up and observing the traffic around us. We can touch the throat area without him crying now...his upper jaw area is still tender and twice it's size. No fever. He is on antibiotics due to the bacterial infections that accompany the bites, and some sort of ???? antihistamine ???? To lessen the swelling. He is curled up in Waynes recliner after the trip home and has fallen sound asleep. I put his pix on FB.

Linda, you are right about FB. I am cautious about what I put on it. We have friends who have had their accounts hacked. They do seem to know what I have been Googling....the ads are so close, don't understand why anyone would put comments about where they were...it is like advertising they are not home. And the people they suggest are no one I ever knew!

I have a Yahoo email address that I use for weird things that I don't want to give my real email address for because you get bombarded with other junk so it's not just Facebook that tracks you, seems like it's much more. But as you say ... don't put anything out there that may put you in a position you don't want to be in.

Hi Karen, thank goodness Fritz is ok and is on Medications now. I hope he improves and feels better soon!

Linda, Pete and I have had conversions about buying this or fixing that, and without me even looking any of it up online I will get ads for it on the side of the Facebook page. They use your age and stuff to smart-ad you, but sometimes it's just too much of a coincidence, freaky!

I'm done my secretarial duty for the day. I'm still not sure if I want to work for my Brother, but I'll help him out for now and see how it goes. I still have to eat breakfast and get ready for Physio, ciao for now :)

Google, Yahoo, and any other search engine do track where you have been. I don't think FB tracks you I am sure they have better things to do. They do allow adds on the side of the home page b/c they get paid for it and they can also get paid by some people ( if they are stupid enough) to keep playing games. The game site pays them to keep their games going and then they also have ads. I belong to a few cooking sites that I enjoy and also gardening sites as well as local selling, buy trade sites for this area.

I have noticed the FB ads that seem to track my Yahoo and Google. I don't put too much stuff on it, mo telling when you t will come back to bite you. Ha ha. The worse is the political attacks......wish the people that continually post that junk would get a life and do something constructive.
