Monday's Moon

  • LindaLMT 6 years ago
    Good Afternoon Everyone!
"The Moon today is in a Waning Gibbous Phase. This is the first phase after the Full Moon occurs. It lasts roughly 7 days with the Moon's illumination growing smaller each day until the Moon becomes a Last Quarter Moon with a illumination of 50%."
and there you have your astronomy lesson for the day. LOL!!

It's starting to rumble out there and we are expecting rain earlier in the day. What ever that means because it can rain here anytime anywhere.
Just the normal here ... will pick DH up later and go to the gym and then get something to eat. I figured out why my hips hurt and it's from all the squatting I've been doing scooping up stones, planting, and cleaning up. I think I'll take a couple days off from that kind of work.
Where is everyone? Come out, come out, where ever you are ...

How cool on the moon phase, thanks for the info Linda!

It's so terribly smoky here, our health index is at a 12, Extreme High. We had high winds that brought it in from the fires out West. Even the rain we had last night and this morning hasn't helped. All my windows are closed and I have my air purifiers on high. I hope it goes away soon so we can go outside or open the windows etc.
We're having roasted chicken thighs and potatoes for dinner with a Caesar salad.
I have to hop in the shower and go to physio shortly. The smoke has made it so dark outside, and visibility is poor. Hopefully the drive there and back won't be too bad.

    Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for the moon info, Linda. Yes, you should take a couple of days off from gardening. I definitely feel it a day or two after gardening. Loved your pic of you and Bella on FB. Enjoy your afternoon with your DH.

Gee, I hope the smoke settles down, Shona. I wish they can get those fires under control. My cousin lives in North Vancouver and they have been complaining about it there as well. Your dinner sounds delicious! I hope you have a good physio appointment and they don't hurt you too much. Drive safe and wear a mask when you are outside.

I took my car into my mechanic b/c the locks were buzzing and the passengers front door won't open. Well, they can't get into the car without it costing an arm and leg so they stopped the buzzing and I guess it will have to stay like that. Oh well, I am hoping to get a year out of it as I just use it around town. It has been a great car but what can I expect it is a 1994 car. It was given to my by my MIL before she died in 2004. Den will drive me over to pick it up after he comes home from work. It is nice and sunny today but more thunderstorms are coming tomorrow. We are having chicken something for dinner. Oh yes just a tidbit of info from me today as well. For those who remember. It was 14 years ago today that we had a blackout all over Ontario, Quebec, NY, and many northern states. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_blackout_of_2003

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Hi!! Nice lesson Linda lol :-D Glad you finally figured out the mystery of why your hips hurt, sounds like a good plan to take off a few days.

Wow on how hot it is Shona! Enoy it though cause in a few months all of y'all will be complaining about the snow :-P J/K!!! Really though when does it start to snow normally for y'all? Yum on chicken, potatoes and salad!

Good call on not spending a bunch of $$ to fix your car Joce, wow, it's lasted a long time!!! Michael's car is 12 years old and I thought that was old!

Picked up the kids today, they had fun! My brother took them to Rock and Bowl on Saturday. It doesn't start until 10 pm and they turn the lights down and turn on strobe lights and play loud music. Not my cup of tea but the kids had fun from what it sounds, although Caiden fell asleep after 2 games haha. How he slept through all that noise I'll never know :P

Tonight is Caiden's first official Ninja Warrior class. Then I have to speed over to Bri's practice which we will probably be late for, but I've already told the coach. It's hard to get everywhere I need to be when Michael is on nights, but I know I can ask a few people for help if I need to. Not making dinner tonight, since it's just me and the kids, and we all agreed that a smoothie sounded good, so that will probably be dinner lol. They can snack some when we get home late tonight or I can make them popcorn or something. Have a good evening everyone!!

I can't imagine what these fires out west are like. It seems like they've been burning for well over a year now. I'm hoping something gives soon. Roasted chix is always a favorite here Shona. Enjoy.

The pic on FB Joce is of me and my first rabbit Mistic, she is the one that started the "rabbit habit". I loved her. She was so bonded with me she was like a puppy. Followed me all over the house and would come when she was called. I had her for 8 years and then one night she took a turn for the worse suddenly and died in my arms a few hours later. Broke my heart. I think she had a heart attack.
I would say you got your monies worth out of your car. Will you get another? The BlackOut was the featured story on History.com's "This Day In History".

Caiden must have been exhausted to have fallen asleep while out bowling. Too cute! Hope he has fun at his Ninja Warrior class Michelle.
