More Leftovers Monday....

  • chuckieb 6 years ago
Good Morning Everyone! It is overcast and it's -1C/30F out. Not too bad. :)

I have so many leftovers that I don't have to cook anything except breakfast today. Will have leftover Ham' n Swiss Loaf for lunch and then the leftover Stuffed Turkey breast from Friday night for dinner.

Jim is going to go out and burn some more brush today. I'm not quite sure what I'm up to. My Mom's birthday is the beginning of December so I might pop into town and see if I can buy her a nice cardigan as part of her present.

Here's a photo of the Fajitas we made on Saturday night. Jim did the meat to perfection and they were scrumptious. :)

    Wishing everyone a great day!

    Good Morning Everyone!!

Brrrr, it's cold up North. It's overcast here too and might rain. Love Fajitas and haven't had them in forever Janet. Must change that and have them soon. Nice having leftovers and not having to cook.

Not much planned yet. Thought our farmers market was today but they moved it this week to Wednesday. Kinda messes things up for me because I'm out of veggies and potatoes and need them so may have to go to the store. Oh well.

Morning Janet!! Awesome on having leftovers for lunch and dinner today, I love when that happens :) Good luck finding your Mom a gift. Those fajitas do look perfect!

At the gym and then I need to do some grocery shopping. Seems like I'm always doing that lol. Michael has a dentist appt. today on his one day off so he's not happy about that. He has a whole week off starting Friday so at least he has that to look forward to.

    Making this tonight
Taco Soup, it's something I can throw together quick since we have a busy evening. Have a great day everyone!!

    Good Morning Everyone!
Nice, you don't have to cook today, Janet. Good luck finding something for your Mom's BD. The pic of the fajitas looks scrumptious!

Bummer on your Farmer's Market changing the day on you! I know you were planning on it,
Taco Soup sounds perfect for your dinner tonight, Michelle.

We are having leftover roast beef. Basically a repeat of last night so it is easy to do. Den got everything done yesterday, so we are all set for winter now.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

What a shame the Farmer's Market changed their dates Linda. That would mess you up alright.

I do feel for Michael having a Dentist appointment on his only day off Michelle. Not what one would 'choose' to do on their day off. Nice that he has an entire week off soon though. Do you guys have anything special planned? I think I've only made Taco Soup twice and one for sure was a recipe of Keni's. There's A LOT of ingredients in the one you have chosen!

Nice that you two are all set to welcome the winter Joce. LOL! I always adore our first couple of snowfalls as it's SO pretty. We've been very fortunate too really. Here it is the middle of November and we haven't gotten any really bad weather yet. Yum on your leftovers.

Good morning. Tried to post earlier but when I tried to upload pix, our asinine internet just crawled. Ticked me off, of course. So I gave up. The problem started Friday when I tried to send some pix in text form Wayne's phone to mine and the terrible, slaw, horrible wifi balked. Gave up. We had to pick up GS and was still not moving. If my brain had been functioning I would have had him leave his phone at home bec. It had to use G4 or LTE to send them instead of free wifi, then for some reason duplicated the number being sent. Used up all the remaining data, so AT&T put us on slow mode......until the 17th. So I gave up. The pix will have to wait. No great loss,

However. I loved your article on leftovers, Janet....makes my day when we have enough for a second time around! Fajitas are so good! It was in he 40 F range here this morning. Sunny and calm.

Too bad the FM moved its day, Linda. I would probably just eat unhealthy until Wednesday. Ha ha! Hate grocery shopping sometimes! I should be more like you and utilize FM when the weather cooperates. My mom made the best veggie soup....chunks of tomato, green beans, carrots, onion (if she could sneak it in without Dad noticing the chunks....hmm, I am married to another onion hater). Wayne will eat itty bitty diced pieces but dutifully piles bigger chunks on the side of his plate.

Hi Michelle. Taco soup sounds good! Will have to check out the recipe.

Joce, roast beef was a standard when I was a kid. Loved the stuff. When Mom put some churck roast in with the veggie soup it was one of my favorites.

Wayne went out this morning but deer were way too far to use the 30-30. He saw six total. One took off into the forest and we heard shots from that direction. He may go to the bottom of the hay field later since they seem to like that area mid day. I encouraged him to avoid the area where we saw the wild pigs if he is alone, they are very dangerous and it really would be better if a second person was there to assist in case of trouble. He carries a high caliber pistol now in addition to the rifle, because they have been known to attack people with little provocation.

Mauser and Trouble are inside. Mauser is "chirping" as she walks, probably telling us she is hungry...thirsty...needs a clean litter box....or just feels like making noise. Trouble is asleep on the couch. The other cats are outside. Fritz is looking for mischief. But then Fritz is always looking for mischief!

Have a wonderful day! See you later.

Sp Linda! Dang on the FM changing their days, I'd do like Karen and just go without veggies for a few days lol :)

Leftovers for you too Joce! Lucky!

Lol Janet, guess I should have said that I'm only making the soup part of the recipe and not the taco seasoning part. I already have a huge jar of homemade taco seasoning in my pantry, and I'm using that! The kids are going to my Mom's on Sunday and they will keep them until Thursday when we go there to do Thanksgiving :) So Michael and I are planning on doing a little browsing for house interior stuff. I'd like to go down to Houston and find some of the more specialty stores (floors, counter tops, bathroom, etc.) other than just Home Depot or Lowe's.

Morning Karen! Ugh on your slow internet, what a PIA! Wild pigs sound scary, I guess they will attack? Agree that he should take a buddy in that part of the woods.

I got my Caesar salad dressing made last night and it was delicious! I took some pics. but I HATE all of them. We are having more of it tonight on a salad with our taco soup, so I'm going to try and get some better one's before I post the recipe. If not, ugly pics. it is! Lol :P

Argh on being on slow mode with the internet 'til the '17th Karen. :( LOL @ Mauser chirping. It's funny the noises they make sometimes!

How fun the kids will get some Grandma and Grandpa time Michelle and that you and Michael will then be able to do some home planning things. Very nice! Dressing, like soup and gravy and sauces, etc. are not photogenic at the best of times. LOL!

Was quite successful in time. Got my Mom a zippered cardigan at Northern Reflections. I wish it was a little cuddlier and warmer/thicker, but I checked at three different stores and it was the best I saw. I picked up some Christmas stocking stuffers for both her and my SIL as well. Need to get some presents sent off soon so they get there in time.

Had to laugh when I stopped at Sobey's as almost every customer was craning their neck looking down aisles because as I'd mentioned, it is in the process of a reno. One lady actually said to me "Finding everything? LOL". We agreed that once they got it done and we had cased it out again it'd probably be a good thing, but in the mean time!!!!!!!

Looks like I'll have to go to the store this week for veggies. The so called Farmers Market is a Craft/Gift Market Wednesday ... no produce, no seafood, no bread. Arrgh.

Had bananas that needed to be used so I made Shona's Banana Bread. It looks real good. I'm sure once it cools down to eat it'll taste great too! I added walnuts and some chocolate chips. One Bowl Banana Bread

Taco soup sounds good Michelle. Bummer on Michael having a dentist appointment on his day off but he has a week coming to look forward too. Have fun shopping and exploring for what you want in your new house.

Leftover roast beef is good too Joce. One of my favorites! Kuddos for being all set and ready for winter.

Hate internet and computer problems Karen. Wish I could go without veggies and such for a few days but the bunny needs her greens and I'm almost out of them too. I've been craving a bowl of minestrone/veggie soup and had planned to get what I needed at our market. I feel so good eating it then I deem it's ok to have a piece of chocolate or whatever. LOL!
Wish Wayne wouldn't go out alone period. It's always good to buddy up.
Cute on Mauser chirping and talking away when she wants something.

That's great you found your mom a cardigan Janet. Always nice when you go out and find what you need instead of coming home empty handed.

Oh no on further changes to the Farmer's Market Linda. :( Will you visit the Craft/Gift Market anyway just to see what they're showing? Yum on banana bread. That makes one of the nicest smells in the house.

Decided since I didn't have to cook dinner that I'd make a new soup recipe for this month's IMI11 Challenge. Chose
    Cheeseburger Soup By David Simonson
Obviously the addition of dill pickles and sauerkraut piqued my interest. It's almost done simmering. I've tasted a couple of spoonfulls of broth and I think I quite like it. :)

Pitch dark out now and it's 5:06 p.m. Jim is just out dousing the embers of his brush fire.

Good evening and hello to all. MMMMM banana bread is the best smell ever thru the house when baking. I've had a bit of a slow internet today myself.

Wedding was beautiful as weddings are. Was a bit different than any I've been to in the last few years. It was in the Great Hall of the Sanibel Community House and we sat at the tables we would later eat at. There were 4 rows of tables and the wedding party and bride walked down between the two sets of rows. There was a stage and that's where the nuptials took place. The sound system was awful and when it came to the actual vows and ceremony you could not hear them. There was a mic but it wasn't working well. I realize the vows were between the bride and groom anyway but it would have been nice to be able to hear as they wrote their own. I love when vows are individual and not just the traditional ones. Others in attendance complained a bit about it but other than that it was lovely. The bride (my cousin's daughter) was absolutely stunning! I cried the moment I saw her! She's a beautiful girl to begin with and she really took your breath away! We ate and visited for a little while but left before the cake and all. Had a long drive home and wanted to get going. Which was probably good as it was at least an hour after we left before that part got going and we left at 7:30. The boys stayed with their sister there as she had been there since Friday afternoon and was staying another night in the motel. But saw many relatives that we had not seen in a long time. All and all a delightful evening.

With all the talk of homemade pizza lately, yep, that's what we are having. Actually almost ready so must get going.

Hope all enjoy the rest of the evening and Sleep Sweet All..............As Always.............
