Not so laborious Monday

    Good Morning!

I did not get to my sleep study. I became violently ill yesterday afternoon and it wasn't pretty.
Suffice to say, the technician did not need to witness my up and down activity of the night.

Marie, Karen, when I had my last sleep study, I was in the high 90's for not breathing and I kicked my legs 70 times per hour. I've wiggled my feet since I was very young. My sister hated it and would yell at me all night when we shared a bedroom. I'll have to reschedule. Sigh.

What a busy afternoon, Karen. I hate when I impulse buy at the store. It seems I always find something. The canned cherry tomatoes would be yummy. Have you ever made corn relish?
I can't find it in any store. LOL at the kitty scuffles. Glad you are getting rest too.

Marie, kitty scuffles at your house too. Aw. Glad Lennon is better. I do hope you get a day of rest today. Glad you are getting better sleep since Rick is getting rest. Fred snores as loud as a train. He refuses his cpap.

Laurie, hope the fridge works. lol on Mr. Fix-it.
Michelle, when are the kids due home?
    Joce and Janet, hello!

Anyone cooking out today? It looks like we have thunderstorms around us. It was pretty stormy last night. I had Molly stuck to me like glue. Since I didn't cook yesterday...no way I was eating anything. I'll try our menu today. Might just do Grandma Plaza's bread sauce for the broccoli and make it extra easy on myself today. Baked beans are right from the can. Fred will do the burgers, thankfully. Poor guy had a peanut butter sandwich for dinner.

Nope Mr. Fix it could not fix the fridge water situation. I have a feeling a third attempt may be tried today after some advise from a neighbor.
    Feel better soon.

It has been raining since about 5 AM - not complaining, we need it badly. Severe weather is possible tonight.

We were invited to a BBQ last night after church. Youngest grandson would have been iffy because he still is not able to easily change gears / plans at the last minute. However, children do NOT dictate what we are going to do, so he would have had to concede. Wayne's back was hurting too bad to consider it, but it would have been fun.

Tina - too bad about having the sleep test postponed. Hope you feel better. I have not made corn relish because Wayne would not eat it. But I have seen it in WalMart - and the commissary.

A.C. is still on strike over the new cat food. He has been restless again so I don't know if he has another UTI (no symptoms other than restlessness) or just wanting outside or thinks a mouse is hiding in the computer room. Mary has not touched her's in 24 hours. She is not happy. Life is rough. Mel gave up and ate enough to survive.

It is time to do something constructive. Litter boxes are in need. I still have half a cup of coffee so if slow down, I can postpone the inevitable.

Awww Tina, .so sorry you had to reschedule the sleep study..feel better sweetie...

Laurie, good luck on the fridge..what a PIA..my parents went thru the same thing not too long ago..I'm sure they'll get it all figured out:)

Karen, hope Wayne's back gets better real soon! That is also a PIA, especially with the type of work he does..Rick used to have bad backaches (up & down ladders, heavy lifting etc).he started exercising 5 days a week, and that seems to help him..he still hurts every once in a while, but not as bad before:)
So happy to hear you are getting rain! We are in such a drought here, it's not good at all..sure hope we get lots of rain/snow this winter...

Here's a link of Lake Oroville, before & after the drought..we live a few miles up the hill from the lake===

Dinner will be BBQ something or other:)

    Hi Joce:) Hi Janet:)

Tina's 2 ingredient cake is in the oven..I did a copy and paste of the VERY long list of ingredients & directions "Large can of crushed pineapple mixed with an Angel Food cake mix, bake at 350 degrees in UNGREASED 13 x 9 pan for 28-30 minutes. " LOL

Smells heavenly..I used a pan a bit smaller than the 9x13 had to fill some ramekins with the excess batter..I am now guessing how long to bake those!

Rick said he'd like to grill some chicken sausages today..so of course we don't have any chicken sausages!.....He can pick some up at the store here in a bit.

Tina, I am so sorry you became so violently ill, yesterday afternoon:( I wonder if it was b/c of one of the drugs you are taking? I have had a few really rough days lately and I am beginning to think it is b/c of the drugs I am taking as well?

Laurie, Good luck with getting the water line thing fixed to your fridge today. We were lucky when we bought our fridge. They had a guy came and drilled a tiny hole in the floor behind the fridge and hooked the copper hose and voila it was done. LOL No way Den could have figured it out in a million years!

Karen, I wish we had a kitty around here yesterday! As I mentioned before, we had new windows installed in the basement about a month ago. On my way down to the rec room yesterday, I noticed a mouse hanging onto the screen and did not think much about it b/c it was outside. I mentioned it to Den, and when he looked at it he noticed the mouse had chewed big holes all over the screen! Now we will have to replace all the screens in the basement windows with stronger metal ones. Ugh! We had this problem before, but we never knew what was gnarling at them until now. Needless to say that mouse is NO MORE!

Janet, Have a safe drive and journey back home today. Once again, I don't envy that long drive or being around people being in a rush to get home from a long weekend. You and Jim will probably be tired when you arrive home.

Michelle, Did you have a very relaxing day yesterday?

Marie, Good to hear Lennon is on the mend:) I hope both you and Rick have a nice relaxing Labour Day:) Sending another "BIG RAIN DANCE" your way:) Gee, I should make one of those cakes. Pineapple Angel Food Cupcakes I have all the ingredients:) Plus I think I have a container of Cool Whip in the freezer? It does sound YUMMY! Send a piece this way please:)

We are having BBQed chicken breasts and I might do some ribs as well, the leftovers will be good with a potato salad and other things. I should run out to my Farm Kids Stand and pick up more veggies and corn on the cob. Then that will determine what other sides we will have. Making Keni's Velvety Herbed Eggs for brunch in a few minutes.

Wishing everyone a good Labour Day!

Well, whatever it was cleared me out. I look like a dried prune. My fingertips and toes are all wrinkled and I'm cold. Cold in 94 degrees.

Fred has been working in his bathroom. Since the faucet failed, he decided to take the vanity cabinet out and scrub the floor behind it. Now he can't get it plumb and level. It rocks. He decided to shim with a piece of cardboard. Umm, no. That looks terrible. Oy Vey.

Karen, you and I belong to the same school as far as pet food. Eat it, or not. I will say that the last kind I bought was ever so much better dog breath-wise, it is a keeper. I don't know why but they feel like they have had conditioner applied. Silky dog hair still needs to be swiffered. LOL Okay I'll try Walmart for the corn relish. Good for the rain. Your hip is a good predictor.

Marie, I hope the cake turns out nicely for you. Fred loved it and he 'hates' pineapple. I saw you can do the same with pumpkin pie filling or with a can of lemon curd. Relax, lady. You deserve it. Wish I could send you some of our liquid sunshine.

Laurie, bummer on the fridge. I do hope you get it fixed soon. Hang in there.
I agree, Joce, that driving in traffic would be my last choice of activity today. That said, I do hope everyone arrives to their homes safely.

I do hope the cookouts go swimmingly for everyone. Take care.

    Hello all.

Have had a most delightful holiday weekend. Got all my laundry done on Saturday so yesterday and today has been nothing but couch potato goodness. Yesterday hubs and I did a Hell on Wheels marathon via netflix (love that show!). Today is Star Trek! No grilling out here. ODD (pardon the pun) dinner tonight but per master Cayce's request, lol! Chili dogs, tator tots, cucumber salad, coleslaw and a side of fresh fruit. Just bought some grapes, strawberries and raspberries. So good to go. Got to admit......the kid likes what he likes, lol. But hey, sounds good to me!

Tina.......hope you are feeling better dear! You guys seem to be getting more of the storms and rain down there than we are up here.

Hope all have a great evening!

There is a severe storm watch for us and much of the surrounding area. We ghad another half inch of rain last night / this morning. Rain is good. Severe storms - not so much. Radar has the storms moving this way, supposedly due around midnight. We shall see what we shall see.

I did not have a chance to can the cherry tomatoes. Wayne had some projects that he could finish in spite of his back. Which required a second person to help. Which meant the house did not see any cleaning. LOL. But since we finished at 7-ish, I didn't have time to fix meatloaf, so I concocted a vodka-cherry tomatoes-onion-green pepper-ground beef sauce over bow tie pasta, with basil, garlic, black pepper, 1/2 cup of the blender ketchup to add some zip, and a dash of thyme. It was not bad.

The cats are still on a limited, partial hunger strike. I have noticed the cat food is slowly disappearing, so they must eat enough to survive. A.C. could stand to lose some weight - he weighs 14 pounds, most of which is NOT muscle. Mary cries pitifully and looks aghast at her cat food. I will empty the old and add some new, maybe it will soothe her frazzled nerves.

    Welcome back, Janet.

    See you all tomorrow.
